Can you believe we’re more than halfway through 2016? Whilst it may not feel like it right now, spring and summer are just around the corner, so to help you get the most out of these months, we’re extending the Telstra Air Free Wi-Fi Offer until 27 March 2017. That means more check-ins, more selfies and more streaming your favourite sports and entertainment for eligible Telstra mobile and home broadband customers.
And with the network growing to more than 400,000 hotspots across the nation, there have never been more places to connect for free.
So let’s check out what’s hot for the rest of the year.
Venture to the top of OZ for outdoor concerts, theatre shows, cabaret, comedy and visual arts at the Darwin Festival. Instagram your pics using one of more than ten Telstra Air hotspots in Darwin and have your friends wishing they were there.
Located at the heart of the Great Barrier Reef, the Airlie Beach Festival of Music is set in the most beautiful tropical waterfront location in Australia. The headline acts include famous 70s UK rock band 10cc, American Toni Childs, Richard Clapton, Wendy Matthews, Angry Anderson with the James Southwell Band and The Black Sorrows.
If rugging up and being rugged is your thing then head to the Blue Mountains this winter which are home to something magical, called Yulefest. Think roaring fires, amazing food, scenic walks, markets winter wonder land snow falls. Connecting is easy with Telstra Air hotspots located around Katoomba, Leura and the Three Sisters.
Not to be outdone, Victoria’s Alpine Region turns on the charm (and the snow). Take a trip to Mt. Buller or base yourself in the accommodation hubs of Bright, Mansfield, Alexandria or several towns along the Hume Highway to connect to Telstra Air hotspots.
It might be known as the Apple Isle, but Tasmania is also home to Bridestowe Lavender Estate – the world’s largest privately-owned lavender farm. With an estimated 650,000 plants, the lavender rows stretch for about 200 kilometres in total. While you can visit all year round, spring and summer are when the colours are at their peak.
Cinefestoz (24-28 august) is Australia’s premier destination film festival. The event attracts filmmakers and visitors from all over the world and takes place in the picturesque regions of Margaret River, Bunbury and Busselton (all of which have Telstra hotspots).
With hundreds of events to attend showcasing visual arts alongside local produce in a variety of spectacular locations across Adelaide, the South Australian Living Artists Festival (SALA) is sure to keep you occupied. There are more than 60 Telstra Air Hot Spots located across the city to share your favourite snaps.
To close off our Aussie winter our nation’s capital will host Australia’s biggest celebration of spring – Floriade. This festival takes place on the edge of winter and spring and showcases over one million flowers in bloom throughout Canberra’s Commonwealth Park. With a number of Telstra Air hotspots located throughout Canberra, your Instagram feed is sure to be full of colour.
