In just over 2 weeks I will once again be in geek heaven – also known as the Consumer Electronics Show – in Las Vegas.

As this is my second visit to CES, I hope to spend a bit more time in the conference sessions.  CES-pass-Michael-LewisThe ones that have already caught my eye are:

  • Content in the Cloud
  • Digital Health Summit
  • Emerging Technology
  • In-Vehicle Technology
  • Kids@Play and Mommy Tech
  • Technology and the Environment
  • Wireless Communications

Of course, I will be capturing as much information as I can and sending reports back to the Telstra Exchange, trying to give you a feel for the things we can expect to see in the coming year. Each year they launch approximately 20,000 new consumer technology products at CES.

I am keen to see the how tablets have expanded, what the latest “i” accessories will be, and whether the 3D TV manufacturers have spoken to each other in the past year and designed a single pair of glasses that will work on all their brands……

As a blogger, I have a day and a half of activities prior to the official opening of the show – including CES Unveiled: The Official Press Event of the International CES. Here I will get a pre-show look at who will be making news at CES, and a sneak peek at products being launched at CES. That will be followed by the official Press Day, leading into the keynote addresses.

Headlining the event this year is Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer. This is to be followed by presentations by Alan Mulally, President and CEO of the Ford Motor Company, Boo-Keun Yoon, Samsung President and General Manger of Visual Display Business; Rupert Stadler, Audi AG Chairman of the Board of Management, to name a few.

Please let me know if there is anything of interest you would like me to try and find – no guarantees, but will do my best.

Thanks for your comments and feedback this year. I know not everyone agreed with everything I wrote – but I do appreciate every bit of feedback received – be it positive or not. All the best for a great and safe new year – and I look forward to writing to you again shortly.

Happy Holidays from the Telstra Exchange crew

The Telstra Exchange team wish everyone a safe and happy festive season.

Like most folks, we’re looking forward to a bit of down-time over the Christmas-New Year period. With that in mind we’ll be signing off from around midday on Christmas Eve (Friday 24 December 2010). We won’t be publishing any new blog posts until we return on 4 January 2011.
