Summer is just around the corner. If you want a piece of tech that looks as sharp as a new pair of boardies we might just have the answer for you. My friends, look no further than the Nexus 5X.
This offer from Google and LG comes packed with cool tech features and a pure Android experience, with the Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box operating system.
We took the Nexus 5X on a test drive around Melbourne. Here are six key features that we love and hope will get you through the summer days that lie ahead:
Add some fresh colour
If you want to mix it up from the usual black and white options, the Nexus comes in ‘Ice Blue’. Of course if you’re keen to keep it simple it’s also available in Black.
Keep juiced with the Type C Charger
There’s not much worse when you’re heading out all day and realise your battery life is critical. That doesn’t matter with the Nexus 5X. The included USB Type-C Charger provides 10 minutes of charging, which provides you nearly 4 hours of battery life. That’s enough power to make sure the front facing camera is primed for taking as many selfies as you could possibly imagine.
Streaming on the 5.2” HD LCD Display
The days are long and hot and while you’ve said you’ll all meet up at a certain time we all have that friend who is always 30 minutes late. Unlock that crisp full HD screen and start streaming your favourite show or watch the latest YouTube sensation over our 4GX network in a 4GX area to pass the time.
OK Google, I’d like…
With new festivals, restaurants and events launching every week it’s hard to keep up with where they are, but that all changes now OK Google is at your beck and call. No need to put those pesky fingers to work typing out search terms when all you need to do is say “OK Google” and ask any question you like. That way you can keep your other hand free to hold various baked goods. Just to let you know, data charges may apply.
Share everything with the 12.3 megapixel camera
There’s no point being at a secret laneway event if you can’t share every selfie, food shot or sunset pic on social media when you’ve got internet access. The built in camera lends itself to any subject worth capturing and the 1.55µm sensor will make the most of low light situations so you won’t miss a thing.
You want it all, you want it Google Now
Google Now in the Google app is your own personal assistant, it gives you the most relevant information available to you depending on where you are, what time of day it is or what you’ve been searching for recently. Very handy for when you’re not sure what to do next. Again, data charges may apply.
The Telstra Mobile Network offers 4GX in all capital CBDs and selected suburban and regional areas and is progressively rolling out to more places. In other coverage areas around Australia, you’ll automatically switch to our fastest available 4G or 3G. Check coverage at Telstra.com/coverage.
