During our visit to the Mobile World Congress earlier this year, we were very proud to announce that Telstra and Huawei were set to launch an exciting new mobile broadband device that will help bring the next evolution in 4G technology to Australians. The day has arrived.
Today we’re introducing the Telstra Advanced Pro X – a very handy mobile Wi-Fi device that can connect your favourite Wi-Fi enabled devices to the internet when you’re on the move. It’s also the first mobile broadband device in Australia to feature LTE Category 6 technology – which means it’s capable of supporting ultra-fast data speeds by operating on two spectrum bands simultaneously.
While today the Advanced Pro X working on Telstra’s 4G 1800MHz network will support very brisk download speeds of between 2 Mbps to 50 Mbps in 4G areas – our testing of the devices LTE-A capability (which supports theoretical maximum peak download speeds of 300Mbps) points to world-leading performance once we introduce 700MHz spectrum in early 2015.
With the ability to link to Telstra’s billing systems, The Advanced Pro X enables customers to track their data usage against their monthly allowance. The screen also displays information on Wi-Fi name, signal strength, number of devices connected battery levels and SMS notifications at a glance.
The Advanced Pro X’s battery is large enough that customers can stay connected for longer with up to 10 hours of active battery life and even enables you to ‘reverse charge’ your smartphone from the device.
One of our favourite Advanced Pro X features is the ability to connect up to 10 Wi-Fi enabled devices at once, including compatible smartphones, tablets or laptops.
So if you’re working with your team outside of the office or travelling with the family and need to connect multiple devices, the Advanced Pro X can do it for you and it’s compatible with PC and Mac!
As of today, the Telstra Wi-Fi 4G Advanced Pro X will be available online and in the following Telstra stores:
