Telstra’s smartphone range is set to go 3D with the launch on 20 September of the HTC EVO 3D – an advanced Android™ smartphone and 3D entertainment hub.

The HTC EVO 3D features a high resolution 4.3-inch screen that allows people to access 3D movies and games on the go. And thanks to some clever screen technology there’s no need to use special glasses.

HTC EVO 3D Android smartphoneThe EVO 3D is also built to capture life in three dimensions. Its twin 5 mega-pixel cameras can shoot both 3D video and 3D photography and makes capturing and sharing experiences with friends that little bit more exciting and immersive.

Telstra Next G® network connectivity will make it possible to easily post high-quality video to YouTube® or Facebook®, or share moments in real time over the mobile internet.

EVO 3D owners will also be able to enjoy the clarity of HD voice calls automatically at no extra cost when chatting to other people with HD voice compatible handsets on the Next G® network in Australia. HD Voice is the mobile equivalent of switching from standard to high definition TV and delivers crisper, clearer calls making it easier to chat with mates – even when they’re in crowded or noisy environments.

3D content

You’ll be able to get straight into the 3D action thanks to the EVO 3D’s pre-loaded 3D content.

The phone comes pre-loaded with:

  • Need For Speed Shift (Full 3D game)
  • The SIMs 3 (Full 3D game)
  • Spiderman (Stub to download the full game free, standard data charges apply)
  • 3D photos

Plus, customers who purchase one of the first 3,500 EVO 3Ds from Telstra will get a copy of the Green Hornet 3D movie pre-installed (devices with the Green Hornet pre-installed will be stickered).
