There’s something for everyone this week on Telstra TV. Whether you’re in need of some romance for a movie night in, laughs with the family, a sci-fi action binge or your weekly fix of home-grown reality – Telstra TV has you covered. Check out our freshest picks releasing this week.
The Mountain Between Us (BigPond Movies)
Just in time for your date night is an epic romantic thriller, THE MOUNTAIN BETWEEN US, fresh from the cinema on BigPond Movies. Two strangers, played by Kate Winslet and Idris Elba, and a loveable labrador* become stranded together after their light plane crashes into a snow-covered mountaintop. As they team up to survive the dangerous journey back to safety through the harsh, frigid terrain, they inevitably fall for each other.
*And in case you’re worried – SPOILER ALERT – the dog survives!
Grace and Frankie (Netflix)
New to Netflix this week is the entire fourth season of GRACE AND FRANKIE, a charming comedy series from Friends creator Marta Kauffman about forming new relationships and adapting to change in your twilight years. When their husbands (played by Martin Sheen and Sam Waterston) leave them to marry each other, uptight Grace (Jane Fonda) and new-age Frankie (Lily Tomlin) team up to take on the world. This season, they’re joined by Lisa Kudrow as Grace’s third-wheel friend Sheree.
Philip K. Dick’s Electric Dreams (Stan)
If you’re a fan of the Netflix anthology series Black Mirror, check out PHILIP K. DICK’S ELECTRIC DREAMS. Four new episodes have been added this week on Stan, completing the entire first season. With an all-star cast including Bryan Cranston, Anna Paquin and Steve Buscemi, each stand-alone episode in this ten part sci-fi series explores an alternate future inspired by some uncomfortably familiar present day realities.
The Great Australian Bake Off (Foxtel Now)
And returning this week for season three is THE GREAT AUSTRALIAN BAKE OFF on Foxtel Now. Based on the popular British series and judged by Australian cooking icon Maggie Beer and chef Matt Moran, the series follows twelve home bakers as they’re put through their paces to crown only one winner. A feast for the eyes, expect to salivate through a gorgeous parade of pastries, delicious desserts, cakes, biscuits, bread and more.
