Keep the kids entertained at home these school holidays, with the latest new release family movies available now on Telstra TV. Here are just a few of our kid-friendly favourites streaming right now.
Onward (Telstra TV Box Office)
Released early this week on Telstra TV Box Office is Disney and Pixar’s heartwarming animated adventure, ONWARD. Set in a mythical world where magic powers are real but gradually became superseded by technology, shy teenage elf Ian Lightfoot (played by Tom Holland) receives an unusual gift on his sixteenth birthday – a magical staff, gem and a spell giving him and his brother Barley (Chris Pratt) the chance to spend a whole day with their late father, who Ian didn’t get a chance to know growing up. But when the spell doesn’t quite work out as expected and only the bottom half of their dad materialises, they find themselves in a race against time to find another magic gem to complete the spell. Also starring Julia Louis-Dreyfus and Octavia Spencer.
Just like ‘Black Mirror: Bandersnatch’ but for kids, Netflix’s latest interactive movie – CARMEN SANDIEGO: TO STEAL OR NOT TO STEAL – sees the red-coated thief turned humanitarian Carmen (voiced by Gina Rodriguez) relying on the viewer to complete her latest mission. Through a series of branching choose-your-own-adventure-like options, you’ll help Carmen outsmart her former criminal colleagues at the Villains International League of Evil (V.I.L.E.) to rescue crew members Zack and Ivy before they become brainwashed into becoming V.I.L.E. Operatives. But until she can find where they’re being held captive, Carmen is forced to buy some time by stealing on behalf of V.I.L.E. Using your Telstra TV remote control, you’ll guide Carmen through a series of choices and ultimately control how the movie plays out.

When he seeks out the help of awkward young scientist Walter Beckett to help him evade capture, he accidentally ends up the subject of Walter’s latest game-changing experiment: “biodynamic concealment”.
