If you are in Point Cook this Saturday, drop into the Telstra Store to see how fast fibre-optic broadband allows you to download games and movies and upload photos at the same time.

You might just walk away with a free T-Hub or signed AFL footy jumper. The first person to connect this Saturday will walk away with a free T-Hub. The second gets a signed and framed Western Bulldogs jumper. The third will receive a Collingwood jumper signed by Dale Thomas.  Full terms and conditions.

We’re staging a launch event to celebrate the switch-on of Australia’s first fibre broadband network built in an existing estate. We started building this network in December 2009 (see media releases) and have recently completed it.

This means up to 1500 households in Point Cook now have access to Telstra Velocity, which delivers some of the fastest residential internet services in the world.

  • digital free-to-air TV;
  • FOXTEL from Telstra; and
  • home phone services.

All from one cable with no need for rooftop antennas or dishes.

I will be at the Point Cook store with the local Melbourne team and we can check our network map to see if you can connect to Telstra Velocity.

Orders can be placed on Saturday. If you can’t make it, call the Telstra Smart Communities Centre on 1800 008 994
