Today I was honoured to be joined by the Hon Andrew Constance, Treasurer of NSW, Robert ‘Scobelizer’ Scoble from San Francisco and many of our partners, as we celebrated the opening the Sydney Digital Transformation Centre.
This new space is now the Sydney home of Digital First, our company-wide program to become a leader in the application of digital tools and methods with the aim to improve customer experience and reduce cost dramatically.
We originally announced Digital First in March, and the Digital Transformation Centre is where much of this work will be delivered from in the next three years. It will be a place where the digital team, our operating business units and our external partners come together to innovate, design and build new tools.
We have already started delivering against this promise, with initiatives such as our new online Telstra Store pages on Telstra.com so customers can interact with their local Telstra store online, and with the launch of the Smart-IVR where we can help customers self-serve using their mobile handset. And many other improvements are already underway, including how we can help make our field technicians more effective.
So while I am proud to open the Digital Transformation Centre, to me today was also a celebration of our work and our progress in putting the customer at the centre of everything we do, to deliver to Telstra’s purpose of offering a brilliant connected future for everyone.
