Asia is a key market for organisations in the European and Middle East region looking to expand. With almost half the world’s internet consumers and a growing middle-class there is a lot of opportunity for businesses – but the right technology and planning is needed to connect to this diverse region. We’re taking steps to help businesses realise their growth ambitions by combining our leading programmable network and expertise in Asia with enhanced connectivity and more local expertise in the region.
When expanding into new markets businesses need two fundamental things – reliable and agile network connectivity that supports cloud computing and the rapidly growing demand for data and applications, and advice on how to implement and manage this technology.
Linking EMEA to the Asia Pacific
With new points of presence (PoPs) in Dubai, Frankfurt and Paris we can now offer flexible and dynamic access to the Telstra Programmable Network, a leading digital platform for enterprise network services built on Software-Defined Networking.
With the Telstra Programmable network businesses get near-real time on-demand connectivity to clouds, data centres and a partner ecosystem through one portal, transforming the traditional networking experience. Businesses with operations in Dubai, France and Germany can optimise their IT through the automated provisioning of new applications and services, real-time data insights on network usage and consumption-based pricing without the need for significant infrastructure upgrades.
The availability of the Telstra Programmable Network builds on the significant capacity investments we have made in the region, which include PoPs in Amsterdam, Copenhagen, Dusseldorf, London, Stockholm and a second one each in Paris and Frankfurt that provide access to virtual private networks via Telstra’s IPVPN solution.
These investments add to the more than 2000 PoPs we have access to, around the world and open up opportunities for businesses to connect to more locations globally through our global satellite coverage and world-class subsea cable network that provides direct connectivity between Asia and the Middle East, then onwards to Europe.
We have more than 3000 in region experts based in 22 countries outside of Australia – and this number is growing. Together with our network expansion, we’re boosting our presence in the EMEA region with new offices and more people in Dubai and Paris. This is in addition to our offices in Germany, the Netherlands, Sweden and the UK.
Our EMEA team can provide industry-specific advice in areas such as media, financial services, oil and gas, as well as broader consulting services through our team at Company85 for those who need assistance with technology planning and implementation. They can also work with our experts in Asia to manage the challenges associated with providing connectivity in such a diverse region.
The time looks ripe for businesses in EMEA to expand into the growing Asia region. With this brings the need to shore up their connectivity, or risk being left behind.
