Google’s latest and greatest Android smartphone has landed in Australia with a bang, with both the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL on our store shelves now in three colour variants each. The new phones were introduced to the public at a glamorous event at Sydney’s Carriageworks, complete with stations to show off the new phones’ most innovative features.
With hundreds of attendees getting hands-on with the new Google Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL, we took the chance to ask a few Pixel ambassadors what their favourite new features and early impressions of the new handsets were.
The Pixel 3’s camera was a stand-out with everyone we talked to – new AI-powered features like Top Shot which suggests better moments for you when it finds one, so you can be sure that you get the right shot, making it easier to snap that perfect moment.
The new design and premium materials used in the Pixel 3 were also popular, especially the newly introduced Not Pink colour, which we stock alongside the more conventional Clearly White and Just Black variants. The Pixel 3 also has a new two-tone finish on its all-glass back, with the lower portion etched in a distinctive design that makes it easier to grip.
The Pixel 3 also works with Google’s latest accessories including the Pixel Stand, a wireless charging stand that also turns your new phone into a helpful voice-powered assistant when you’re topping up the battery. The Pixel Stand can work around your life with smart, customisable routines – speaking a phrase like “good night” can be customised to turn off your smart lights or your TV, set an alarm, and play some soothing night-time sounds.
