Who am I?
I have a high definition 10.1” touch screen, combine the ultra-fast Telstra 4G speeds with Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich), a 1.5gHz Dual Core processor with 1gb of RAM, 16gb of onboard memory – expandable to 32gb via a micro SD slot, dual cameras and a long life 6900mAh battery that will keep me going for up to 9 hours of continuous video playback – at a price that will surprise you!
Let me give you another clue – I am brand new in the Australian market – and looking forward to becoming part of your family soon!
That’s right – I’m the new Telstra 4G Tablet.
Exclusive to Telstra, the 4G Tablet is designed to be used by both business and consumers alike. While I was evaluating this tablet, the first question I was asked by passing colleagues was “is it fast?” I answered each and every one a resounding “YES”. Whether it was a YouTube clip or a show on Mobile FOXTEL – the 4G Tablet running on the Telstra 4G-enabled network performed extremely well. The designers of the tablet have taken into account that using 4G, downloading data or streaming video chews up battery life, and have included a 6900mAh battery – that’s as much as 9 hours of video or 600 hours of standby!
The Telstra 4G Tablet is portable and lightweight, making it a great alternative to carrying your laptop computer. X-Office is preinstalled, allowing you to view and open documents with ease when you are out and about.
Work aside, let’s look at some of the other great things you can do with the Telstra 4G Tablet:
I read a few pages of an eBook using the Google Play Books, and found it comfortable to read either in horizontal (dual page) or vertical (single page).
Next I tried my hands at some games – Angry Birds downloaded and the three stars “level cleared” message appeared time and time again! Then it was onto Stupid Zombies – guaranteed to turn you into one if you play too much of it. I chose these two games to see how the Tablet fared from a weight and responsiveness perspective. After approximately 30 minutes of playing, I was satisfied that the 4G Tablet was a good gaming experience – not too heavy to hold for extended periods and a responsive screen.
Although I don’t usually use a Tablet for taking photos, I must admit I enjoyed the camera experience with the Telstra 4G Tablet. Although not the fanciest camera on the market, the images were clear, zooming was simple and I liked the ability to instantly share it through Facebook, Twitter, email, via Bluetooth or over the cellular network (via the presented icons). Of course, zooming into a captured image really showed off the clarity of the screen.
I took the 4G Tablet for a walk around the city streets, using the GPS as my guide. Needless to say, Google Maps were up to date – and I successfully covered four city blocks without getting lost.
The Telstra 4G Tablet is great value for money – you get a fully featured 10.1” Android tablet that will meet both your business and personal requirements, at an affordable price. If you want to buy it outright, it will cost you $480. To take advantage of the Telstra 4G-enabled network, add in the Telstra Pre-Paid Data+ Cap, that allows you to top-up your service as required – whilst staying in control of your budget. Alternatively, Telstra are offering the 4G Tablet on a range of plans, payable over 24 months. (Please note that these data plans are only for use within Australia).
So if you are considering purchasing a tablet, take a look at the Telstra 4G Tablet – I know you will be pleasantly surprised.
