With just a few days left to apply for muru-D, I thought it would be useful to talk about what will happen next after we close the application window on Monday next week.
I’d love to tell you we have an algorithm that reviews all the applications automatically and picks out the ones that best fit our requirements, but the truth is we do all of this manually.
Every fully completed application will get reviewed by at least three people to make sure there’s a balanced review. We then meet the top 40 or so teams face-to-face before we decide on the top 20-25 teams that we’ll invite to muru-D bootcamp.
At bootcamp we’ll give the startups lots of coaching and mentoring to help set them up for success at the final pitch event we’re holding on 13 October.
That final pitch will be in front of a super-awesome panel of judges who absolutely know and love the digital startup space, have experience in building startups and investing in them.
As ever, our head judge will be Charlotte Yarkoni, President of the Telstra Software Group and co-founder of muru-D. Returning judges are Rick Ellis, investor and global media expert and Stuart Fox, managing partner at Artesian Capital.
Our new judges this year are: Ian Maxwell, serial entrepreneur, investor and IP expert; Daniel Petrie, managing partner at Airtree ventures; and Topaz Conway, experienced Angel Investor & Entrepreneur.
The decisions of these amazing judges will be announced on the evening of the 13th of Oct when we’ll find out who will make up class#2 of muru-D…. I can’t wait to find out who they are!!
But in the meantime if you have a great digital idea, muru-D and Telstra have the experience to help you accelerate that idea and we definitely want to hear from you. You can apply through the muru-D website.
