Welcome to our Wearable Wednesdays series, a weekly look at the world of wearables.

If January is the month for making New Year’s resolutions, then February is for making New Year exclamations like ‘can you believe its February already?’ over and over.

Yes, it’s February. Already.

Now just for fun: cast your mind back to January 1.What kind of shape was your New Year’s resolution in? What kind of shape is it in now? Dare I even ask…?

If you decided to make better choices, improving your health and well being in 2015, you’re not alone! More than 60 per cent of Aussies made resolutions when the New Year began and a majority of those resolutions were about living a healthier lifestyle overall. That includes getting fitter, losing weight, exercising more and eating healthier (sound familiar?).

Would you be surprised to know, however, that almost 70 per cent of people who made health or fitness related resolutions in 2014 gave up within the first six months?

And of those, half gave up even sooner than that?

Some of you may have already signed up for FebFast, challenging your commitment to your health and well being whilst raising money for a noble cause. Kudos to you!

But if you’re still looking for something to give you a much needed kick in the—ahem—right direction, fear not! There are many ways to reinvigorate your resolutions with wearables.

Pick the right wearable for you

It’s really exciting to engage with your health and wellbeing using the information that a clever piece of technology like a smartband or smartwatch can give you. However, picking the right wearable is essential for getting the most out of it. Read how to pick the right wearable for you and the different ways to wear them.

Get yourself a personal trainer – with an edge

The great thing about wearables is that you have access to a ‘trainer’ without the ongoing costs. For example, the Jabra Sport Pulse not only tracks your steps, reps and heartbeat, it also encourages you as you work out to push yourself a little harder!

Download the right apps

There’s no denying it: we’re living in an age of apps! Which means you need to ensure you download right ones to keep you motivated. Learn more about the apps to get you on track this year and top must-have apps for your Android Wear device.

So pick up a wearable and beat the resolution odds!
