Downtime is set to become the new primetime. Australians are already embracing streaming media services to watch and listen to what they want, when they want on the big screen. The screen you take everywhere in your pocket is next.

The shift to any time entertainment has already started. Video on our mobile network has grown more than 30 per cent in the past 12 months. And, each week day we see a spike in video traffic on our mobile network between 8 am and 9 am and then again from 5 pm to 6 pm as commuters stream to unwind.

To help our customers turn their downtime into primetime we are putting Australia’s most-loved sport and entertainment in the palm of their hands.

From Tuesday 23 August new customers can chill out, unwind and find the best laughs with:

  • Includes a three-month subscription to all three leading streaming video providers Netflix, Stan and Presto on selected mobile plans[1].
  • Telstra mobile plan customers can now enjoy Apple Music with data-free music streaming which means listening to all your favourite songs, albums and playlists without tapping into their data allowance and
  • A new app that makes it easy to discover all the sports and entertainment content included in Telstra mobile plans.

The Get Down (Netflix)

Baz Luhrmann and a team of collaborators have created a music-driven drama that documents the emergence of a new art form. Set in the late 1970s in New York the story follows the rise of hip-hop as told through a group of young people in the South Bronx.

Billions (Stan)

Billions tells the story of New York’s most powerful titans who are locked in an epic battle. Those who love popular actors Paul Giamatti and Damian Lewis are sure to enjoy Billions on Stan.

Mr Robot Season 2 (Presto)

Mr Robot follows the story of Elliot – a young programmer who has perfected the art of computer hacking. Season 2 is sure to provide more jam packed action for Mr Robot fans!

AFL Live Pass & NRL Digital Pass (App Store, Google Play)

The days are getting longer and the countdown is on until the big Grand Final weekend in early October. Regardless of which code of footy you prefer, we’ll continue to unmeter all live AFL and NRL games between now and the end of the season.
