We know that it’s never a good time for a price change and as you may already be aware, our supplier Foxtel recently made a decision to invest more in great content. This translated into higher costs in providing Foxtel from Telstra to our customers.
From March 28, Foxtel from Telstra customers with a sports package or Platinum HD package will also experience a price change.
So what does this mean for me?
You will have received a notification if the price rise affects you.
The sports package will increase by $4 per month and the Platinum HD package will increase by $2 per month. The revised pricing will come into effect on your next Telstra bill after 28 March 2017.
Refer to the below for more detail.
Why are we increasing the price?
Foxtel and Telstra have a shared vision and commitment to providing premium sport and entertainment content experiences for customers, and the price change allows for this continued investment.
This includes the recently strengthened HBO partnership which sees Foxtel as the home of HBO in Australia – it’s the only place that you will find HBO’s award winning TV series, including Game of Thrones, the Sopranos, Girls, VEEP and more available to stream on demand.
Foxtel has also launched a dedicated NRL channel, ensuring sports customers have the best of live sport, including every game of every round of the NRL and Super Rugby. As well as sport, Foxtel continues to invest in local programming like Wentworth, A Place to Call Home and The Kettering Incident, along with lifestyle favourites like Selling Houses Australia, Gogglebox and Real Housewives of Sydney.
We hope you can understand our commitment to providing premium content for Foxtel from Telstra customers to enjoy.
- If you have the sport or platinum package included in the fixed price of your home internet bundle you will not be impacted by the price change
- If the sport or platinum package has been added on top of your bundle inclusions you will be impacted by the price change
- If you are receiving any gifted content or discounts on your Foxtel from Telstra subscription, the price changes will apply once your offer has ended.
