Celebrating a year of Telstra Thanks®

I’m proud to say our loyalty program, Telstra Thanks, is now a year old. And what an incredible year it has been!
It began with the launch of Telstra Thanks $10 Movie Tickets and has since grown to deliver many experiences across our three pillars; movies, music and sport.
From a Spider-Man 2 Google+ Hangout, to discounted tickets and seat upgrades at major sporting events and meet and greets with the likes of Katy Perry and Bon Jovi, we aim to connect our customers to the things they love.
We’ve been able to provide a range of money can’t buy experiences for our customers, like six year old Jayden who became his own Lego character in the LEGO movie, to the opportunity to be the official ‘Telstra Thanks Reporter’ and interview the stars of Anchorman 2.
We’ve given away a walk on role in the Aussie film ‘Son of a Gun’ (with Ewan McGregor), a trip to LA to meet director of Man of Steel, the opportunity to walk the red carpet with Brad Pitt (WWZ), Henry Cavill (Man of Steel) and Matt Damon (Elysium) at the Australian movie premieres and we recently gave six Telstra customers the opportunity to ask the stars of The Amazing Spiderman 2 a question in a Google+ hangout.
In December last year, we live streamed Bon Jovi’s final Australian show from Brisbane – connecting over 55,000 Aussie fans, and launched AFL and NRL digital passes, offering footy fans the ability to watch LIVE games on their smartphones and tablets.
Since launching, more than 1.4 million tickets to movies, live music and sporting events have been taken up by our customers and employees.
But what’s in store for the next year of Telstra Thanks?
We’ll be building on the success of the Telstra Thanks ‘hometown proud’ regional tour, which saw Jessica Mauboy perform free pop up gigs in Lismore, Tamworth, Shepparton, Canberra and Geelong. Details about our new regional tour will be announced in the coming weeks.
The Telstra Thanks presents Michael Bublé tour will kick off in Perth on 26th April and Katy Perry will return to Australia in November this year for her Telstra Thanks presents Prismatic World Tour.
We are also looking at ways to say thank you to customers through BigPond Movies and through new sporting offers and experiences.
We’ve been listening to feedback, especially from our customers in regional areas and will be ramping up our rewards and offers so watch this space!
That’s the future – but as the first year of Thanks ticks over I have also been reflecting on the past and how Thanks has grown and developed.
I can honestly say that I feel really privileged to be part of a team that has been able to say thank you to our customers every day in these small ways; to show we care.
I am also really proud to be part of a team this is building a loyalty program like no other – that with Telstra Thanks we have built a program that is free of complicated point-earning mechanics or difficult rules on redemptions.
It feels good to offer rewards and experiences to our customers just to simply say thanks for being with us.
But now to time to raise a glass to our second year of Thanks that lies ahead – and the exciting program of activities and offers we have planned connecting our customers to the things they love!
