When Flappy Bird disappeared from the App Store, we missed it.

We missed it so much that we tried to fill the gap. We played recreations of the game in various formats; were tempted by those auctioning off phones with the game installed; we even looked to similar games for our next quick-fix!

But the gap was there. The gap was true.

Many of us thought that Flappy Bird creator Dong Nguyen would never return to pocket games… until now.

Yesterday Nguyen released his latest game, Swing Copters. But this time instead of tapping to head sideways, you tap to fly upwards.

Upon opening the app this morning, I was happy to discover it had a similar look and feel to Flappy Bird – it was good to be back!

After a couple of turns of tapping like mad and getting nowhere, another similar feeling also returned: satisfying game-rage. Swing Copters is just as hard – if not harder – than Flappy Bird. How could it be?!

Don’t believe me? Give it a try! It’s free (with ads) for download on Google Play and the App Store.

App of the week: Swing Copters
