This month, Telstra joined the nation in celebrating the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples during NAIDOC week.

To mark the occasion, we lent our support to RECOGNISE and it was great to see our volunteers out raising awareness of this cause.

Throughout NAIDOC week over 1,000 employees, including our CEO David Thodey, pledged their support via the RECOGNISE website.

Momentum is building behind the movement to recognise Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples in the Constitution and at Telstra we’re proud to be on board.

This important conversation will continue over the weekend at the Garma Festival, a vibrant annual celebration of Yolngu (Aboriginal people from north east Arnhem Land) culture.

I’m looking forward to joining academics, politicians, cultural leaders, activists and other corporate representatives to discuss the issue of constitutional reform and, working together, set out a view for the future.
