41st Sydney Mardi Gras Parade Live Stream (SBS On Demand)
Get ready for an explosion of colour, glitter and fabulousness as the 41ST SYDNEY GAY AND LESBIAN MARDI GRAS showcases the pride, passion, culture and diversity of the Australian LGBTI community. With over 200 groups marching down Oxford Street in a record number of floats, this year is set to be the biggest parade yet. Watch the live stream of the parade from 7:30pm (AEDT) on Saturday 2 March via SBS On Demand or tune in to SBS on Sunday night from 8:35pm (AEDT) to watch the parade with commentary from hosts Magda Szubanski, Joel Creasey, Patrick Abboud and Urzila Carlson.
Pose (Foxtel Now)
With all the colourful drama you’d expect from American Horror Story creators Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk, POSE on Foxtel Now takes us back to 1980’s New York during the rise of the ballroom scene. The series stars the largest-ever cast of transgender actors on TV to date, marrying epic musical features and incredible costumes to address the power of the ball movement in fighting hard-hitting societal issues of the time. The story follows a group of resilient queer individuals as they rebuild their lives amongst all odds, directing their energy towards competing in shows where they’re judged on their outfits, dance skills and utterly jaw-dropping performances.
Queer Eye (Netflix)
It’s been over ten years since the original series finished, but the Fab Five have returned with a lovable new cast in this addictive Netflix series. This revamped era of QUEER EYE showcases a group of experts in fashion, grooming, interiors and the culinary scene as they form unlikely bonds with men and women seeking their advice. Providing complete lifestyle makeovers, prepare to fall in love with the group’s quick wit and impeccable sense of style as much as you’re invested in the often heart-wrenching back-stories of those seeking their help. A must watch.
Ru Paul’s Drag Race (Stan)
Hosted by lovably sassy RuPaul, this highly addictive elimination-style reality show is guaranteed to have you hooked. Battling for the highly coveted title of America’s Next Drag Superstar, drag queen contestants compete against one another as they create show-stopping costumes, apply impressive makeup and strut their stuff down the catwalk in this visually stunning competition. With lip-sync battles, professional photoshoots and music video performances, there’s no shortness of excitement (or drama!) in RU PAUL’S DRAG RACE on Stan.
Will & Grace (Telstra TV Box Office)
Following a hugely successful eight-year run in the early 2000s, WILL & GRACE is back on Telstra TV Box Office after a twelve-year hiatus, bringing with it all our favourite characters from the iconic sitcom. The show is centred around the friendship of four best friends in New York, in particular Will Truman – a gay high-flying corporate lawyer – and Grace Adler – a straight interior designer with a tendency to overdramatise. Adding in the comedic brilliance of their flamboyant friends, the series is laugh-out-loud funny while serving as one of the biggest LGBTI series on mainstream television.
Gaycation (SBS On Demand)
This eye-opening series takes audiences all over the world as actress Ellen Page and her best friend set out to explore LGBTI cultures around the globe. From Brazil and Jamaica to Ukraine, in GAYCATION on SBS On Demand, we’re given an inside look into the struggles and triumphs of queer individuals as they fight for acceptance in their cultures where things aren’t always so welcoming. As well as delving into important issues, GAYCATION celebrates the power of community – especially as the pair dance the night away in Japan’s smallest gay bar.
