Changes to our fixed phone plans in October
I’d like to let you know about some changes we are making to the monthly access charges on some of our fixed line plans — plus call rates on some of our fixed line plans and bundles.
The changes won’t come into effect until 1 October 2015 but we wanted to give you plenty of notice.
We understand that there is never a good time to increase prices. We don’t make these decisions lightly. Our updated pricing reflects the ongoing investment in our network to provide voice services across Australia.
Changes to monthly access charges & call rates
From 1 October 2015, customers on our Telstra Home Phone Budget plan will receive an increase of $1 per month. Selected other home phone plans will increase by $2 per month.
The call connection fee on selected home and business phone plans and bundles will increase to 55c per call for timed national calls to fixed lines, calls to standard Australian mobiles and international calls (from either 49c or 50c depending on your plan). And, the rate for calls to 13 numbers will increase from 35c to 40c per call.
If these changes apply to you we will contact you directly in writing from late July.
We have identified customers who may be able to benefit from better value if they switch to our newer plans. If you’re one of these customers we will be writing to you soon to let you know about an alternative plan you can move to that could provide more value.
Pensioner discount update
Telstra is one of only a few providers to offer customers pensioner discounts on fixed voice services, and we’re continuing this support.
For pensioners on our Home Phone Budget plan, we are increasing the types of calls eligible for our monthly call discount (up to $3.50 per month). The new call types included are standard national calls, calls to standard Australian mobiles, International Calls and Calls to 13 Numbers — in addition to our current inclusions, such as local calls.
We will also continue to offer pensioner customers on other selected Home Phone plans a discount of up to $15 per month for eligible calls. Our fixed voice customers save over $100 million altogether each year through our pensioner discounts.

Business access charges
From 1 October there will also be increases on the monthly access charges on a number of our BusinessLine® PSTN and ISDN Plans and changes to call charges and calling feature charges. The majority of PSTN BusinessLine plans are increasing by $2 per month.
Switching plans is easy
Telstra Home Phone and Business Line customers can change their plans at any time. And, our newer phone plans and bundles offer even more included value. We encourage you to chat to us about the best plan to suit your needs.
