The Samsung Galaxy SII smartphone won a lot of adoration for its stunning screen, lightning fast user interface and its distinct flat and thin design. It’s so good it has become one of Australia’s best-selling smartphones. So how do you top it? Simple: keep all the good bits and add 2012’s must-have feature – ultra-fast 4G connectivity.
Tomorrow we’re launching the Samsung GALAXY S II 4G. It supercharges the SII experience by letting owners in 4G coverage areas surf the mobile internet at speeds that are up to five times faster than the SII. That means you can send, stream and surf at speeds that will blow you away.
Compared with its predecessor, SII 4G features a larger SuperAMOLED screen measuring in at 4.5-inches – great for watching streaming video on. It’s also powered by a higher-capacity 1.5GHz dual core processor which supports fast web browsing and easy switching between multiple apps, games and videos. It comes with a near field communication chip built in for NFC tag reading.
Looks wise, the Galaxy SII 4G stands out with a slim design – it’s just 10mm thick.
Multimedia functions include an 8 megapixel camera and 1080p full HD video recording. The phone also has a large battery capacity (1850mAh), Wi-Fi a/b/g/n support, and Bluetooth 3.0+HS. There’s HD Voice support built in too which enables crisper, clearer calls when chatting to other people with HD Voice compatible handsets on the Telstra Mobile Network.
Samsung Galaxy SII 4G runs the latest Android™ Gingerbread 2.3.6 operating system (upgradable to Android™ 4.0 in the future).
Customers using the Samsung GALAXY S II 4G in 4G coverage areas (capital city CBDs, associated airports and more than 80 regional and metropolitan locations) can access typical download speeds ranging from 2Mbps to 40Mbps and typical upload speeds from 1Mbps to 10Mbps. When outside 4G coverage areas the Samsung GALAXY S II 4G uses HSPA+ Dual Channel technology to serve up Australia’s fastest 3G speeds so customers can enjoy super-fast 3G download speeds ranging from 1.1Mbps-20Mbps in all capital CBDs and much of the associated metropolitan areas and many regional locations. Outside of these areas the device transitions to Telstra’s fastest available 3G speeds.
