I recently attended my first Telstra Business Women’s Awards, unfortunately not as a nominee, but as a spectator. To be completely honest, I really did not know what the night would bring or what it would mean to me. I certainly didn’t expect to shed a tear, but I did.
Listening to the stories of the award winners, I realised that these women come from such diverse backgrounds, but they all share the same passion for life and people. We all lead such busy lives and it was great to actually stop, reflect, and really appreciate the amazing work being done by women in our community.
The highs, the lows, the trials and tribulations, these women’s stories were truly inspiring and their contributions to our community were rightly acknowledged and celebrated last night. Have a look at my video (link) to get an insider’s view of the night. I even talked to the big boss David Thodey.
Walking out the doors of the Grand Hyatt at the end of the event, my head filled with the stories of pure courage and determination, I felt proud to be a women and proud to work for a company that has supported these important awards for 15 years.
