Sandra Mobbs...

  • Communications Advisor
  • Strategy & Corporate Services
  • I am a member of Telstra’s Strategy and Corporate Services team. This statement may sound a tad boring to the uninitiated; however, in my slightly-biased opinion, the team I manage communications for is one of the most exciting and talented bunch I know.

I work with Telstra’s Network Construction team, sharing facts and figures about their amazing, major construction projects with the wider world. This award-winning team project manage and build network infrastructure for Telstra and their customers – connecting small and large businesses, communities, families and loved ones across our wide-brown land.

Personally, I enjoy reading and writing and I am currently mid-way towards collecting a Journalism degree. On the home-front, I am blessed with a techno-geek husband who feels the need to incorporate his love of electronic gadgetry into all aspects of our lives. When not at work, Trev and I relax by sharing good food and wine with our crazy, music-loving friends and we ‘unrelax’ by organising unconventional but memorable holidays with family.

Therefore, if you have a phobia about creepy crawlies such as these, I definitely wouldn’t be applying for a telecommunications traineeship in the field (note there are other traineeships available if you are interested).

Imagine you have never worked in retail, but then one day you are thrown into this very situation and there you stand, face-to-face with a crowd of customers seeking advice. This was the exact position I found myself in just recently.
