Phill Sporton...

  • Phill Sporton is the Executive Director of Service Delivery in Telstra Operations. This area of Telstra is responsible for the installation, connection and repair of Telstra’s products, services and plant. Along with Australia’s largest field workforce (approximately 3,500 field technicians), Phill’s organisation is made up of teams across field-related customer activation and assurance functions, fault recording call centres and a range of back of house and support functions.

    Having started with Telstra as an Engineer in 1983, Phill has spent an impressive 26 years at Telstra in range of roles including several positions in senior management.

    Phill was recently appointed to the Board of the Telecommunications Industry Ombudsman (TIO) and holds a position on the Executive Committee of Open House, a not-for-profit organisation looking after the needs of the under privileged in the north eastern suburbs of Melbourne. In his down-time Phill enjoys spending time with his wife Jenny and their three teenage children, as well as indulging in his passion for all things aeronautical.

Update on communication impacts due to flooding in Queensland

Telstra technicians have been working through the night to complete repairs to the damaged redundant inland fibre cable located near Harlin in Kingaroy that was swept away by a landslide during the flooding in Queensland.

International Film Festival awards for Supported Workforce

Just the other night I received some great news from Benjamin Gartland, Creative Director of Bengar Films, who advised us that a film featuring our Telstra supported Workforce had been recognised on the world stage at the Chicago International Film Festival (USA) Intercom Awards.
