  • In a career in the telecommunications industry and Telstra spanning over 30 years, Max has had assignments in many fields including cellular, broadband and data communications network engineering, technical operations of Telstra's mainline data products, corporate customer sales and marketing.

    Max has also been involved in Telstra’s international business firstly as National Manager of the Australian and New Zealand franchise of Infonet and then as a Director of Californian based Infonet Services Corporation.

    Max's current title is Director – Wireless Network Engineering, where he is responsible for the delivery and optimisation of Telstra’s mobile communications radio infrastructure.

    Max has a Bachelor of Engineering (Hons) and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Melbourne.

The results are in! The Melbourne Cup stops the nation

I posted here on Monday that I was interested in whether or not the Melbourne Cup was “the race that stops the nation” and we were going to put this to the test by monitoring traffic on the Telstra network. The results are in, and it is true at 3:00 on the first Tuesday of November, Australia stops (or at least significantly slows!).
