• Jon is a technical specialist based in Emerald within Telstra’s Service Delivery northern division. His current role is Customer Radio Technical Specialist, This role is primarily to oversee and support the correct operation of our many customer radio systems. These are radio based telephone systems that provide voice services to our rural and remote customers where copper cable is not feasible.
  
  The area covers approximately 980,000 sq km in Queensland’s Western and Southern areas. Jon joined Telstra back in 1986 as an apprentice technician in St George SW Queensland. After 7 years working there he moved to Jabiru in the Northern Territory, to maintain Telstra’s network throughout Arnhem Land. He was in this role for 3 years before he took up his current posting in Emerald where he has been for the past 16 years.
