  • Jenny Young joined Telstra in 2004. She has worked across all of our product categories at Telstra and brings with her a broad range of telco experience. After leading accountability for driving profitable growth through customer insights in Telstra’s consumer division, in 2011 Jenny was appointed to head Telstra’s customer transition and marketing program for services on the National Broadband Network (NBN).

    Prior to Telstra, Jenny held senior marketing roles for AOL|7, Unilever, Pepsi and Lion Nathan. During her time at Lion Nathan, Jenny was successful at driving growth of the premium beer portfolio for Lion Nathan including the Hahn Premium and Tooheys Extra Dry brands. Jenny is a graduate of Massey University in New Zealand and holds a Bachelor of Business Studies (Marketing).

Telstra launches services on the NBN in Tasmania

On the winding road to Triabunna, just over an hour’s drive from Hobart through rolling bush clad hills, the string of new looking power poles sport a newer cable that sits a meter below the powerlines. It’s neat arrangement that brings fibre to the seaside town of 500 households, one of the first two sites where we launched Telstra services on the NBN for Tasmanians on Monday.

Fibre in the city – Brunswick Telstra Fibre Experience Centre

The Melbourne sun is shining on the Telstra Fibre Experience Centre, which has landed in Brunswick in the fourth stop of its tour of NBN-enabled areas. It’s an entirely different market from those we’ve visited so far – and a world away from Kiama, Armidale and Townsville.

The Spooners were left with an impromptu buffet of Telstra cupcakes – a Telstra PR event staple – and the Minister’s favourite, chicken salad sandwiches.

It was a motorcade of West Wing proportions – with me were Telstra’s Chief Customer Officer Gordon Ballantyne, Group Managing Director, Telstra Innovation, Products and Marketing, Kate McKenzie, local Area General Manager Michael Marom, and Government Relations Adviser, Lisa McTiernan.
