  • An Olympic gold medallist, Herb is one of Australia's all-time sporting champions. In his five-year running career in a competitive field, Herb was never beaten over 1500 metres or a mile.

    Herb was awarded a Companion of the Order of Australia in 2002 for services to sport and the community and made a Member of the British Empire in 1964 for his contribution to sport.

    He was CEO of Puma Australia from 1985 to 1995 and President of Puma North America from 1995 to 1997. He has been a Director of Pacific Dunlop and Ansell Ltd and is Chairman of Fortescue Metals Ltd.

    Drawing on his significant corporate and community experience in his role as Chairman of the Telstra Foundation, Herb believes that the Foundation provides a great opportunity to make a real and lasting difference to children and young people

Telstra Foundation supports five Indigenous youth programs

Author: Herb Elliott. Today the Telstra Foundation announced its support of five Indigenous led organisations with $3.5 million in grants over three years. I am proud as the leader of the Telstra Foundation to be supporting these Indigenous leaders who are role models for their communities, and programs that will make a positive and lasting difference to the lives of Indigenous youth.
