Allan is the National Energy Manager for Telstra Property. In his role he is focussed on identifying opportunities to reduce the energy, water and waste consumption of over 14,000 sites nationally.

Telstra Property established an energy management group in 2000 who implement a program of works annually to reduce energy & water consumption and improve waste management across Telstra.

Allan has a Master of Engineering in Sustainable Energy from RMIT and really became passionate about the environment when he joined Telstra in 2000, designing solar-power systems to power network sites in remote areas.
In his spare time, Allan is a keen sailor in Port Phillip Bay and recently completed his first ocean race to King Island in the Bass Strait.

This week, my focus has been on co-ordinating Telstra’s contribution to Earth Hour 2011 as we switch off the lights and building signage in over 400 different sites around Australia and internationally. This includes office buildings, Exchanges and Telstra stores and for the first time will also include some of Telstra’s international locations such as Hong Kong.
