Book a table with BigPond Dining

Living in the inner city, it is hard not to be tempted by the sheer volume of great restaurants to go to and eat at. That said, there is nothing more disheartening than deciding on a place where you can go and grab a dinner with friends… or that “special friend”… only to find out that the idea on whim of eating out is dashed by the restaurant not having a table available.
Even the hassle of having to wait for a restaurant to answer the phone, only to find out they don’t have a table available could also well be the thing of the past.
Introducing BigPond Dining, an online website that features the ability to connect you to more than 2,000 restaurants to view if there are any available tables and to reserve one for lunch or dinner.
The service is backed by Dimmi, Australia’s largest online restaurant booking service that brings restaurants and diners together through their innovative online portal.
More and more people are using online services because of the convenience and speed they offer and the Dimmi service neatly packages together the ability to search for a restaurant and click to reserve a table.
Telstra and Dimmi have partnered together to launch the BigPond Dining service which is available online and in the coming weeks Telstra will introduce a mobile service – so stay tuned for that.
Dimmi has also launched an iPhone app that includes a great little feature that allows you to hold up you iPhone to scan around for nearby restaurants where you can book a table at. This is extremely handy if you have, on a whim, decided to go and grab dinner. For Android users, the app is currently in development and is due later in the year.
Dimmi, Italian for “tell me”, was established in 2009 and currently has more than 2,000 restaurants in its database. The service is currently Australia’s largest restaurant booking network which has been designed to bring together diners and restaurants.
The service includes restaurant recommendations and allows users to make reservations directly. The restaurant booking service currently powers some of Australia’s leading online restaurant guides and mobile application services.
