Xperia arc S storms into Telstra

Ever taken a photo with your mobile phone in the heat of a moment (because it was the easiest thing to get your hands onto) and realized later your moment ‘captured’ was not really that memorable after all – due to the lack of performance in the camera?

Well, times are changing and mobile camera technology is getting better. Let’s be honest, it isn’t perfect yet and doesn’t compare to my Digital SLR (professional camera) that I have charged up and sitting on my bedside table, but boy, for a built-in this phone camera (and quarter of the price) is definitely a step in the right direction.

Sony Ericsson Xperia™ arc SI am of course talking about the Sony Ericsson Xperia™ arc S. While I sit on the train riding home after a hard (but fun) days work I am waiting for an opportunity to take and show you all a photo taken on this moving train. More on this later – be sure to read to the end to see how that went!

The beauty of this device is deeper than just its good quality camera. The big screen is simply vibrant, and the handset is just super slim – which makes it convenient to carry in your pocket and a delight to type on, as I am doing now.

This is my first blog (of many hopefully) and what you will soon realize is that I don’t like to get into specs and technical details of the devices. Not withstanding the amazing and innovative technology that goes into these smartphones, I like to keep descriptions in plain English. Hence, the arc S may have a HD Camera, Mobile BRAVIA® Engine, Super-Wide 4.2″ LED back-lit screen – but readers note, it is just amazingly sharp and crisp. Simple.

The other good thing is if you purchase the Sony Ericsson Xperia™ arc S on a 24 month Telstra Plan from Telstra between Boxing Day and January 31st you have a chance to win one of 15 Bravia Home Entertainment packs valued at around $13,000. There are over 5000 prizes up for grabs, and every valid entry will be an instant winner. Customers must redeem prizes by the 28th of Feb. See the Sony Million website here for more info.

So I am home now and glad to say I got the photo I was hoping for earlier. Surrounded by other phone cameras on the train – I didn’t want to ‘intimidate’ them with this brilliant camera in public, so I took it of the train when it was speeding off. Hope you like the black and white effect I put on it – will teach you tricks like this and more in future blogs.

Metro train when speeding off.

That’s a wrap from me. Can’t wait tell you about what makes my job so fun, other upcoming devices, and share more with you next time.
