Like the simple life? Then we’ve got a great new Pre-Paid offer for you!

spectrum-blue-global-its-how-we-connect-header

I bet I’m not the only one who sometimes feels like they are living life in the “fast lane”.  Between meetings, emails, chores and spending time with my growing baby boy, I find my days gone in the blink of an eye.

And when I spend so much time focused on the finer details (from looking at exciting new Pre-Paid handsets, to which brand of nappy is best value) when something is made nice and simple I’m extremely relieved.  Which is why I’m so excited to announce our newest offer for Pre-Paid customers, Telstra Pre-Paid Simplicity™.

The name is a big giveaway- we’ve focused on keeping things simple, perfect if you don’t like to worry about the ins and outs of your Pre-Paid offer.  But it’s also packed with the value you’d expect from our Pre-Paid offers so it’s simply a good choice for customers.

We’ve listened intently to our customers and we are happy to announce that this offer includes some great features we know our Pre-Paid community will love.  We’ve included some amazing rates for talk and text both in Australia and Overseas.

It’s pretty common to have family or friends outside our borders and we know it’s just as important to connect to them even when they are not within the reach of a local call, so we’ve come up with great rates to some of our most popular calling destinations.

Plus there is no call connection on calls to standard international or Australian numbers, so your credit goes towards what matters most- spending time catching up with loved ones.  Perhaps I should start planning a trip so my family and friends can take advantage of these amazing rates…

THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW: The above rates are only available while you’re on this offer and in Australia. some numbers are not standard; such as satellites, premium (eg 19xx numbers) operator assisted (most 12xx numbers) and MessagBank ®. You can have a maximum account balanace of $300 on this offer and any recharge that takes you above this limit will fail.

PLUS we know that there are times when it is handy to have a longer expiry – for example if you are a casual or lighter user you might not drain your credit as fast as someone who is a talkaholic!

So Telstra Pre-Paid Simplicity™ offers the option of longer expiries with higher recharges- the more you recharge the longer you have to use it up. Recharge for $20 and you will get 30 days to use your credit, but recharge $30 and you will get 60 days to use your credit.

And good old fashioned simple value on your daily mobile calls and text makes for a nice Pre-Paid parcel we know you’ll love:

  1. Trying to work out your chart (above). I’ll just visit the Telstra Pre-Paid website :-)

As I said on Whirlpool, I must commend Telstra for offering an easy to understand plan and finally doing away with Flagfall and Caps (which don’t represent their true value).

It would be very easy for someone to work out and understand that they are buying X minutes for Y dollars.

I hope that Telstra introduce more plans like this across the board in pre-paid, post-paid and business.

I have done the maths and the value is not as good as Cap+. It is only worth it if you spend less than $30 per month, otherwise Cap+ is still a much better deal.

There is definitely room for improvement to have similarly explained plans with better rates. 10c per megabyte is quite high (it works out to be $100 per gigabyte).

Also I am concerned amount the maximum account balance rules. Someone who changes from another offer with at least $280.01 would be unable to recharge $20 and lose all of their credits because they can’t recharge before the expiry.

Also someone keeps recharging to extend the expiry but uses less than the recharge amount could eventually get an account balance of at least $280.01 and then have the same problem.

This another great initiative. Good to see Telstra joining the low cost offer race. At 15c/min and no flag fall this is pretty cheap and with the coverage Telstra has a great deal for country Australians. The only thing I would like to see added is some free data eg Facebook.

Your chart suggesting 18c per min (or part) calls to standard international numbers: (Ireland, New Zealand, Philippines, South Africa) seems to contradict the rate shown elsewhere on Telstra.com, including: http://telstra.com.au/mobile/prepaid/rates/

wondering what the charges are for 13 or 18 numbers on the simplicity pre paid, also what does whilst on this offer mean

  7. chezza says:

    Hi.
I have just recharged and put $30 credit on my phone. I am on telstra-prepaid and I am trying change from telstra longlife to the simplicity plan and it won’t let me.
    Why is this?

  8. Bill says:

Very confusing international rate tables that conflict with each other without explanation of the different pricing?
Make them straightforward to understand Telstra “Simplicity”!

  9. zilla says:

Its good for me as I do not have much money to spend on mobile calls
