If you are in the market for a new phone at the moment, you may find it hard trying to choose. Here are my 5 reasons as to why you should upgrade to a HTC EVO 3D.


1. It does 3D!
These days our camera phones are the ones we use the most as they are the most accessible. You want to be able to take photos, view photos and sometimes be able to edit them on the go.

Well don’t worry the HTC EVO 3D still takes brilliant 2D photos, and I loved the fact that depending on the subject of my photos I could choose whether it would be 3D appropriate. It was also great to be out with friends and be able to take the same photo as them, but I could take mine in 3D.

It’s not only photos that do 3D but videos as well. You have the choice of switching between 3D and 2D with the flick of a switch. You can also upload your videos to YouTube 3D – which means you can share content with others who have 3D devices.

The other thing in 3D which blew me away was Need for Speed Shift – yes this phone actually does 3D gaming! Even on a small screen it actually felt that I was in the car while racing, as I could see the windshield was further away from the front of the screen.

2. It’s running the latest version of Android
For the fact that this phone runs 3D, the battery life on here was incredible. It was great that I could take photos, view a little 3D content and still have battery to last me throughout the day for text messages and calls. The updated version of Gingerbread which is pre-installed on the HTC EVO 3D seems to make a difference in giving me a little more juice for running multiple apps. The other advantage of having the latest version of Android is having access to all the latest apps from the Android Market.

3. It can turn your mobile into a Wi-Fi Hotspot
Wi-Fi Hotspot is an easy feature to forget, being standard on the most recent Android devices (Android 2.2+), and it comes in handy when needing to support your other portable devices with a wireless Internet connection. The Sense interface displays your Wi-Fi hotspot clearly and makes it easy to get to.

4. It’s running HTC Sense
This may seem obvious to some but others you may be asking, what’s so special about Sense? Sense is HTC’s custom interface and does provide, in my opinion, the most advanced Android operating system, complete with the latest widgets that blow productivity apps out of the water. I found that I didn’t need to download as many apps as I had on previous Android phones as a lot of the apps I use came pre-installed with HTC Sense.

5. It’s fast! Super fast
Some people say speed is not everything and this is somewhat true. In the case of your smart phone it is definitely a huge positive to have a fast phone. When you are using a phone which does a little more than the usual, multi-tasking is a pre-requisite. The HTC EVO 3D definitely does not lack in the speed department, in fact it packs a dual-core processor and is running the latest version of Android (as mentioned above).

Final Verdict:

If you love your technology and want to take 3D photos to have a one up on your friends, the HTC Evo 3D is definitely a great upgrade. If you want quick web-browsing, good-gaming, good productivity apps on an easy operating system you should still definitely consider the HTC EVO 3D.
