Telstra’s Billboard of Love
Valentine’s Day – if you’re single it’s a day to spend with other single people drinking and laughing at all the PDAs (Personal Display of Affection) you have seen; and if you are in a relationship it’s a day to tell your valentine you love them and hope they don’t get you a more extravagant gift than the one you got them.
For the last three years I have really looked forward to Valentine’s Day for one reason, no it’s not because I have a boyfriend, it’s because of Telstra’s Billboard of Love.
Nothing shouts “I love you” quite like a giant, 26 metre high LCD screen on one of Melbourne’s busiest street corners. And it’s on again this year!
We will be ensuring that love is in the air today with the annual Billboard of Love expected to share more than 30,000 messages of love above the Telstra Icon Store on the corner of Bourke St and Swanston St in Melbourne’s CBD.
Anyone can proclaim their love by texting (for a standard SMS charge) their name and their valentine’s name to 0499 MY LOVE (0499 695 683) and it will appear on the billboard.
That’s: NAME1 [space] NAME2 and send to 0499 695 683
By sending your SMS, you will also receive a picture message to your phone of your names spread across the billboard.
Last year we saw these messages go viral on social media sites throughout the day and we are hoping for the same results this year!
Start spreading the love!

I sent the message of this morning – still no reply with the picture – when will i receive this
Hi Gab,
Did you receive it? There was a bit of a backlog but we’re getting through them. Happy Valentine’s Day!
Have tried last year and this year, didn’t work at all.
Oh no!!
There was a bit of a delay with them coming through last night because of a huge backlog!
Are you messaging your name + your valentine’s blog to 0499 695 683? You can still do it today!
none
Hi guys,
Terms n condition says it closes at 10pm 15th Feb AEDST
I just sent the text and got a reply saying it’s closed?
Please advise or provide a contact number.
Thanks.
Hi K,
Thanks for the comment. The Billboard was switched off at 10pm on February 15 which meant that we had to stop receiving messages at 5pm in order to make sure that they all had time to appear on the Billboard. Sorry for the confusion
hi there, will it be a charge service on normal day? Can I send the SMS to you on my special day?
thank you
Hi Patrick,
Unfortunately this is just for Valentine’s Day.
