According to BlackBerry, the new platform is robust and reliable, and will offer a faster, smarter and smoother experience than any other BlackBerry before. I wish Telstra would get there act together, I don’t want to purchase another phone on line especially after the experience I had with my current Samsung Galaxy S Glide slide out keyboard smart phone !
There are lot of people on this forum that want a Blackberry Q10 what’s the problem ?
Will both the q10 and z10 be blue ticked for rural coverage and can we get emails on them??
Hi Sophie,
The Z10 has a Blue Tick rating and yes you can receive emails on it – instead of using an email specific BlackBerry plan, you can use a regular data plan as with any other smartphone
We’ll provide more info about the Q10 once it is released.
So when will the Q10 be available in Telstra stores? Within in the next week or so?
Hi Jim,
No date just yet. We’ll post here as soon as we know.
Mr Telstra – Is there a release date for the Q10 yet?
And what’s this about no BIS plans – read above.
Hey Michael,
No update on the Q10 release date yet. And yes there are no BIS plans for the Z10 as Blackberry have launched the device to use data instead of BIS.
Hi ian….yet i was told that i would have it available.. Confusion reigns..
Hi Peter,
BES will still work on the Z10 (as the product manager told you) but the Z10 plans use a traditional smartphone plan instead of a BIS plan so it is all simplified with a data allowance as opposed to different feature plans.
Telstra get your facts straight please before you reply. Blackberry BES and BIS are availiable so we had better be able stay with our original plans. BES and BIS answer here is found here http://nerdberry.net/2013/02/03/clearing-up-the-confusion-regarding-bisbes-and-blackberry-10/
Hi Trev,
Yes you can use an old BlackBerry BIS or BES plan if you like but please note that the Z10 has been optimised for a traditional smartphone data plan and using an older plan would mean purchasing the device outright.
Hi Gigi,
Thank you for clearing that up:). I would be very happy to stay with my old plan
This is what I found online regarding the release date of the Q10
http://m.techradar.com/news/phone-and-communications/mobile-phones/blackberry-q10-release-date-confirmed-for-april-1129909 why hasn’t Telstra told us anything yet ?
Hi Mario,
As mentioned above. When we find out we’ll provide an update.
Hi Ian,
Approximately what date would be Q10 out ? availble in stores ?
Thanks
Hi Ali,
No news yet! Will keep you posted when we know more!

So there isn’t even a rough idea of when the q10 is released? You can’t even tell us which month. By the looks of things I’m not the only one after this phone, so you would think telstra would try and speed the release of this phone?
Hi, the new OS for blackberry is really focusing on productivity and business purpose use. Telstra, as the best on my point of view, should do promotion to the business person both on Z10 and Q10, which also improve your professional enterprise image on business. Good luck, Telstra.
Waiting for Q10……
Any news on the Q10 yet? This is just becoming frustrating as there isn’t even an ETA.
Hi Ed,
Still no update. You’ll know when we know!
Az
PLEASE!!!!!! could you inform me when the Q10 is available? love a keypad.
Still no word, Craig. We’ll update here as soon as we know!

Why did I see someone on the bus today with a q10 with telstra as their service provider?
You’ve got a keen eye there! You should have grabbed it and run then bought it to me so I could play with it!
(*I do not actually condone theft or crime even for really cool mobile phones in any way, shape or form).
Tara,
You can purchase an unlocked BB Q10 from various retailers overseas, and on eBay that work on Telstra’s network. This is probably what the person you saw on the bus had, or (more unlikely at this stage in the process), they could have had a pre-release handset for in-field carrier testing from Telstra and/or BB.
Michael
@Tara that must be imported model. Mobicity is selling theirs that works on Telstra 4G but I’m more interested on the device from Telstra, hence waiting.
I’m hoping for an announcement in June otherwise I will take the plunge and buy it from Mobicity.
How come other retailers are selling the q10 already and Telstra is running behind again?
And will the white version be released at the same time??
Stay tuned for info on the white one! My understanding is that no other retailers are selling the Q10 already – it is being sold outright by some resellers but no plans for this little gem are out there yet.
Shouldn’t telstra be selling it outright at least? I bought mine from MobiCity in Hong Kong and it’s Australian stock in fact is starts up with the Telstra splash screen!
Chris, did you have any issues with your Q10 from mobicity? I’m thinking of getting as Telstra is taking too long to get stock.
Its fascinating and sad that people think it’s ok to be so rude just because they’re dealing with Telstra.
Sam I have bought a few things from Mobicity and what I have learned is that once you have ordered and they have cleared your payment, go online and use their online chat and ask them when they will ship. That seems to light a fire under them and they ship it that day.
