Do you (heart) Pink? Tell us about it!

We’re doing something that I think is pretty fun and engaging for Pink Ribbon Day this year… we’re asking our people and customers to tell the world that they (heart) pink via SMS!
A pretty cool way to use our technologies for a good cause, no?
With one in eight women diagnosed with breast cancer before the age of 85, this illness affects the lives of so many people in some way – a wife, mother, grandmother, aunty, sister, daughter, friend, neighbor, colleague…
That’s why we are once again on-board as a Pink Ribbon Day corporate partner, because we know that breast cancer is a cause close to the hearts of our people and our customers.
So get involved in Pink Ribbon Day and help Cancer Council raise awareness and funds for breast cancer research, education and support services.
Just SMS your name to 044 SUPPORT (0447 877 678) between 7am-6pm on Pink Ribbon Day, Monday 22 October, to see your name up in ‘pink lights’ on Telstra’s giant LED billboard in Bourke St Mall in Melbourne.
You will receive a free MMS on your mobile featuring your name up on the big screen. In return, for every unique text received, Telstra will donate $1 to Cancer Council Australia (up to $10,000).
Please note that it is a term and condition of texting to 0447 877 678 that you agree to your name and message being shown on Telstra’s LED billboard in Bourke St Mall in Melbourne. Click here for the terms and conditions.
We are also showing our true colours and getting into the pink spirit by selling Pink Ribbon Day merchandise in all 330+ Telstra retail stores and in our offices throughout October. Our people are also putting on pink fundraisers, wearing pink to work and donating to Cancer Council via our Matched Payroll Giving program.
So go on, send a quick SMS this Pink Ribbon Day and do your bit to help fight breast cancer. Everyone’s doing it!

Happy Pink Ribbon Day

How close are we to the 10,000? I have to admit I have done it a few times.
Hey Larry – we’re only counting unique texts and we were at 3000 at 3.30pm. Thanks for your support!!!
My Wife died 5 years ago following cancer & my daughter has spent 8 months of hard treatment after breast cancer diagnosed & excised. I appreciate your backing of this cause.
Hi Telstra – I saw this last year, it was great! Just wondering if this can be done for other charities? If so, how to apply?
