Hiya Jeff,
Converting the micro SIM to a nano is quick and painless. So, provided our sales staff aren’t busy, it only takes a few minutes and can be done on the spot!

Hi,

I am going to take my current prepaid micro sim to the local Telstra shop to get converted to the nano sim for my new iPhone5. I was wondering what do I need to take with me and how long does this process take? Is it instant or does the sim need to be sent away to be processed?

Many thanks.
Jeff

Hi Tanya,
Sorry, I’m not sure about the answer to that one. Someone in the 24×7 team should know, if you wanted to chat with them.

Do you need to keep money on yout SIM card all the time? We have wireless at home so I only need it when we go away, does it expire if you don't have money on it?

You walked into/called/approached an Australian telco, of course you got ripped off. Australian telecommunications providers, even the "cheapest" are grotesquely more expensive than their offshore parent companies and this is ESPECIALLY true for Telstra. So far, I have visited 32 countries ranging from developing through to the most highly developed that put Australia's infrastructure to shame and not once, NOT ONCE have I found a telco that matches or exceeds Telstra's pricing model on connections, hardware, handsets or early termination costs.

I would like to move my sim between an IPad2 and the new mini. I don't want or need 2 accounts. Can I use the new nano in the ipad2 or do I need the micro for it and the nano for the mini? If so, will telstra allow both Sims to operate of the same account?
