Data boost that will really get you flying

To help you get even more out of your new Telstra smartphone we’re upping the monthly data allowances on some of our most popular mobileplans for a limited time.

Telstra 4GCustomers signing up to our $80 and above Every Day Connect plans for 24 months from today until October 31 can get 1GB of additional data each month, for the first 12 months..

That’s more data for streaming music, browsing the web, updating Facebook and enjoying video with fewer interruptions.

So for example, if you sign up to the $80 Every Day Connect Plan for 24 months, you will already get $800 of allowance for calls and MMS as well as unlimited text each month plus unlimited voice calling between 7pm and 7am every night to standard Australian numbers. And then you get atotal of 2.5 GBs of data a month for the first 12 months.

If you prefer to bring your own mobile, we’ve got you covered too.

Customers signing up to our $60 and above BYO Every Day Connect Plans for 24 months will also get the bonus 1GB of additional data a month for the first 12 months.

Business customers

We haven’t forgotten our business customers — we know they’re  increasingly accessing emails, calendar and business information on their smartphones to stay productive.

If you take up an $80 and above Business Performance Plan or a $60 and above Business Performance BYO plan for 24 months you’ll also get 1GB of bonus data each month for the first 12 months if you sign up between now and October 31.

So if you sign up to the $80 Business Performance Plan for 24 months,  you already get $800 of monthly call and MMS allowance, free calls within Australia to other employees on the same account plus unlimited text each month. With the bonus data offer, you will have a total of 2.5 GB of data each month for the first 12 months..

The extra data makes it even better value to trade up to the network without equal. To check out our range of plans and smartphones head over here.

The network without equal

If you’re in the market for a 4G smartphone, there’s only one network you should choose.  Telstra 4G is Australia’s only national 4G service and goes faster in more places.

Telstra 4G is available in more than 100 metropolitan and regional centres, including all capital cities. It currently covers more than 40 per cent of the population and is expanding fast with more than 1,000 4G enabled sites planned to be added to the network over the next 10 months. When all new sites are live, Telstra’s 4G service will reach approximately two thirds of the Australian population.

On the network without equal, you can enjoy:

  • Typical 4G download speeds of 2Mbps – 40Mbps and typical 4G upload speeds of 1Mbps – 10Mbps.
  • Australia’s largest and most reliable 3G coverage footprint — more than double the coverage of the nearest 3G competitor.
  • Super-fast 3G HSPA+ Dual Channel network speeds providing typical download speeds of 1.1 Mbps – 20 Mbps to 80 per cent of the population.
  • Amazing voice call quality on HD Voice compatible handsets. HD Voice enables crisper, clearer calls between compatible handsets on the Telstra Mobile Network in Australia.

Things you need to know

TELSTRA 4G: Typical download speeds of 2Mbps to 40Mbps are available in all capital CBDs, (meaning within 5km from GPO), associated airports and selected regional locations (meaning 3km from regional town centre). Outside these areas 4G capable devices will automatically switch over to Telstra’s advanced High Speed Packet Access or HSPA enabled 3G network and speeds will be less. Actual speeds vary due to factors such as location, distance from the base station, local terrain, user numbers, hardware & software configuration and download source/upload destination.

great offer, just hope I can get one before it expires

  2. Nathan says:

Is this offer available both in store and online?

And if it’s available in store is it available from all Telstra stores and resellers?

This post doesn’t make a distinction, but your other social channels have said it’s online only, e.g. @Telstra on Twitter –

It’s a bit poor if it’s online only, especially ahead of the iPhone 5 launch on Friday as the online pre-orders are sold out for the time being.

  3. chaosboi says:

Is this applicable to the iphone5 plans when signing up in store?

  4. Dean says:

That’s great for new customers but what about existing users? I’ve had a 4g tablet since launch and I gain nothing by being a loyal customer

  5. Hon says:

You did forget about the Business Mobile Advantage customers, I miss out the pre-order round of iPhone 5. Are you going to “phrase out” this plan?

  6. Can’t help feeling like a mouse, with a piece of data cheese being dangled. Your refreshed plans recently took data away, now you’re giving it back (albiet temporarily).

I’m going to go back and nibble on a cable now ;-)

  7. con says:

ah man that’s unfair 1 month too early switching over to the s3

  8. Paul says:

Sounds great, my concern is that if you give a bonus for one year on a two year contract, what happens in the second year when people are used to using the full amount of data and suddenly are reduced to a smaller data plan?

    Bill shock waiting to happen?

  9. Wayne Stanford says:

Pretty disappointed with your Pirie St store in Adelaide. I went to connect a BYO phone on the $60 plan, and mentioned the additional 1gb of data for the first 12 months. When I cited this post they knew nothing about it. When I pointed them to this blog and asked them to look it up, they couldn’t find this post and didn’t believe me. I walked out of there with a new Nano SIM but without a new contract, which I guess is Telstra’s loss in the long term.
