With the New Year well underway now, I’m excited to give you updated details about the Blog For Good competition.
Here’s how you can go about entering the competition for a great opportunity to travel to Tanzania with CBM this April to blog about your experience!
We will use social media to promote the competition itself and keep you updated – so keep a look out. #blogforgood
So how do you enter the competition?
Competition Criteria
Entrants have to create a slideshow that illustrates how they have used their blog and social to effect social change and highlight a social issue. This must be activity within the last 12 months. A downloadable powerpoint template will be provided to use for you to tell your story.
In addition you must answer these questions:
- How often have you blogged?
- What impact have you had?
- What was the strategy you used?
- How have people responded?
We will also be watching to see what people think of your slideshow on Slideshare.net. How many facebook likes etc. People with a high volume of interaction online with their slideshow will definitely have an advantage.
Entries will close on Sunday 29th March.
All entries will be reviewed by a panel and a final 3 entrants will be selected for an interview on 2nd April.
The winner will be notified and announced on 6th April and will need to be available prior to departure for a trip briefing and training meeting.
The Prize
The winner of the Blog For Good competition will travel for 1 week to Tanzania with CBM Australia to visit a partner project. They will have the opportunity to meet people with disabilities in challenging situations and hear their stories.
They will blog daily from Tanzania to share the stories of the people they encounter and also to share their own thoughts and feelings on the trip and what they encounter in such an amazing country.
Accommodation and all meals will be provided.
The departure date will be either 21st or 22nd April – dependant on flight availability. All visa arrangements will be handled by CBM Australia.
So with only a little over two weeks between the announcement of the winner and departure- you have to be ready with a valid passport and your creative talent raring to go!
