Tropfest is Australia’s most prestigious short film festival and one of its most iconic cultural events. It is also the largest short film festival in the world.
Telstra plays a part in the creativity by sponsoring Tropfest and the Telstra Mobile Masterpieces where entrants must record a short film up to seven minutes shot entirely on a mobile handset or tablet device with movie makers competing for $5,000 in cash.
The three finalists’ films will be shown as a part of the Tropfest festival and screened on Sunday 19 February at live festival sites all around Australia. FOXTEL customers can tune into MOVIE EXTRA which broadcasts the event, which last year reached a live television audience in excess of 200,000.
You can get involved by entering the Telstra Crowd Pleaser Promotion by voting for your favourite film and you could win a Sony Ericsson Xperia handset. To enter, SMS the name of your favourite finalist film from the Telstra Mobile Masterpieces category OR from the Tropfest final 16 Category, along with your full name and state to 0427 46 46 46.
