It’s not just about what’s on the inside
I read an interesting article recently about the toxic nature of the environment we live in. And I’m not just talking about the outside environment, but inside people’s homes.
The article more specifically detailed the issue in relation to the growing incidence of the condition of Multiple Chemical Sensitivity (MCS), which is largely a result of the way we live in the 21 st Century.
MCS is described as being like an allergy, in that some people react to things that don’t bother other people – and they need to find the main source of the sensitivity.
The sensitivity could be due to a number of chemicals and can therefore take some time to determine the cause and devise a suitable solution to alleviate the condition.
And all of this got me thinking more about everything we surround ourselves with and how this affects our overall health.
We read and hear so much about what we should be doing in a physical sense to prevent certain diseases or to live longer in general, but there’s a lot to be said about the combination of what we do with our everyday lives that can make a real difference.
Surrounding ourselves with the right blend of people where you can benefit from two-way support as well as being around positive people who make the most of life can make a real difference to our own mental and emotional state of wellbeing.
When I think about the good times and the bad times that have occurred in my life, the experiences that most stand out are those that are defined by who was around me at the time.
Having a series of strong interpersonal relationships around us plays a critical role in our lives. They can help to enhance how we see life, how we view ourselves and how we want to live our life.
It’s also important to create a harmonious and happy home not only for yourself, but for those who live in that home with you. This allows you to benefit from the downtime we all need, spent in a peaceful environment where you can all relax and interact with each other.
The importance of maintaining our physical health goes without saying, but putting time and effort into maintaining our mental and emotional health is also paramount.
Please share your thoughts on the growing incidence of allergies. Has Multiple Chemical Sensitivity impacted your quality of life?
