Staying connected is Sensational! – Competition
Filed under: HTC, Next G™, smart phone, technology
With the HTC Sensation being one of the fastest phones to come to Telstra I was pretty excited to test it out. Why do I want a fast phone? I love to have multiple apps open all the time, especially my social networking apps so I can easily flick between them.
The HTC Sensation once again shows off the ever evolving custom HTC interface (better known as HTC Sense) which has given us the likes of proximity control, wireless streaming and more intuitive web-browsing.

If you have never experienced Android you will definitely be blown away by the HTC Sensation. Besides the 4.3 inch screen & qHD display you will be impressed by how easy the Sensation is to use and how quickly it performs while keeping you connected. Besides having really fast insides (a 1.2Ghz Dual-Core Processor), I wanted to actually know what experience this phone would give me over older Android devices that I have used. The biggest differences seemed to be in the update to HTC Sense; there is a whole new experience with the “Friends Stream” app. The two most noticeable differences for me were Facebook check-ins and the “Social” lock screen. HTC seem to be having a bigger focus on keeping you on top of your social networks.
When using the Friends Stream homescreen widget or app, you will now see a little ‘places’ icon which will help you check in to your desired place on Facebook. It’s a much easier way of using Facebook places without having to go into the Facebook app. Once you have checked in to your desired place you will see your ‘check in’ on your Facebook wall with the little tag reading ‘via HTC Sense’.
The ‘social’ lock screen is similar to the ‘social’ scene you can set up for your home screens. It means that while your screen is locked you can quickly access your favourite apps by dragging them to the circle, while at the same time see your Twitter and Facebook stream fly across the screen.
The other feature which has been in many Android devices is the “Share” feature – all you have to do is select the photo/video you want to share and press the menu. You will see the share option there making it easy to post on any of your social networks. The big difference with Sense 3.0 is when web browsing, if you like a certain line from a blog, you can copy it and Tweet or Facebook it. It’s simple, just select the text by long pressing and dragging to the end of the sentence and then click the share option.
Overall the HTC Sensation with it’s dual core processor brings you a great phone for multi-tasking which means those of you out there who want to stay on top of your social networks this phone will work a dream!
Wish you had a HTC Sensation? We are giving one away! All you need to do is fill out the form below and upload a picture which best describes ‘Why you think the HTC Sensation would make your life more Sensational’.
Competition finishes on the 26th of August at 5pm (AEST). Terms and conditions apply
