HOW TO: Follow Telstra on Social Networks, E-mail and RSS
Filed under: Facebook, how to, social media, social networking, Twitter
Late last year we kicked off our first ever user survey. (With apologies to Family Feud), we asked you, our online audience, to name something we could do better on Telstra Exchange. Your top 3 responses were:
- Build a Telstra Exchange app for iPhone/Android
- Publish how-to blogs explaining how to get stuff done
- Include image galleries within product blogs
Well, the iPhone/iPad/Android app is in the works and we’ve started messing around with adding flickr photo sets to product blogs. So, next cab off the rank is the how-to series.
To get us started we thought we’d start with something super simple –

I see you have mentioned the iPhone/iPad/Android app is in the works. Will there be an app for Windows 7 mobile?
Hi Larry,
At this stage, we’re only looking at those 3 platforms/devices. (But you never know, if the app is a rip-roaring success we might extend the suite…?) By your question I’m guessing you’re a WP7 fan? Do you use your Windows phone to access the site a lot? How you find the experience?
Tania
Hi Tania,
While I like the WP7, fan is a big word, not sure if I’m there yet. I’m starting to find WP7 is a tad neglected with updates, apps and other media levels. When it comes to logging into TEX, I tend to do it more from my home laptop or PC at work as it is a metered site. Has it been considered to have TEX as part of the GREEN DOT unmetered?
Keep it simple! Start with a more user friendly UI main Telstra website that actrually contains informative information then you wouldn’t need the half a dozen twits, fbs, yts sites replicating the same fragmented content.. Also action speaks louder than words!
Hi Matt – we’re busy revamping the whole of telstra.com at the moment. Improvements will be launched successively. In the meantime, you can propose your ideas or vote for others’ here: http://feedback.telstra.com.au/.
See you soon online,
Gerd
