New BigPond Broadband Plans – fast, simple and more value
Filed under: ADSL, broadband, customers, entertainment, lifestyle, networks, T-Box, technology, trends
I’ve got a confession to make… I’m having a love affair with the internet. From checking the latest news headlines on my iPhone to researching our next exotic holiday on my home PC and enjoying favourite flicks via my new Telstra T-Box®, it’s safe to say that the online world is never more than three steps away in the O’Flaherty home.
And clearly I’m not alone. From video-rich entertainment to social networking sites, Australians are spending more and more time online. In fact, the average Australian internet user spends 17 hours per week online, which is a 28 per cent lift from 2007[1].
At Telstra, we certainly recognise that our customers’ needs are changing. With information, entertainment and news being enjoyed across multiple devices in the house, it’s not surprising that consumer demand for speed, simplicity and value from their broadband is growing.
We’ve spent a lot of time listening to what our customers need and want from their home broadband solution, and I’m pleased to announce that from tomorrow, our new BigPond broadband plans deliver greater data allowances at lower prices, allowing household members to do more on the internet for less.
We’re really excited about these new plans and have worked hard to ensure they are simple, easy to understand and offer our customers real bang for their buck. Ranging from 2GB to 200GB plans, benefits of the new plans include:
- Reduced monthly access fees of $10 to $90 per month
- Turbo plan customers will get the benefit of faster “Elite” plans for no extra cost, except for the entry level 2GB “Turbo” plan
- A reduction of 12 plans to four to simplify the range
- No additional usage fees on any plan
The pricing for customers on a 12 month plan who have a Telstra full service fixed phone is:
|
[2]Min cost for ‘new prices’ over 12 month with HomeLine® Plus and a 1-port self install modem are: $907.80 (Turbo 2GB), $1027.80 (Elite 2GB), $1,387.80 (Elite 50GB) and $1,627.80 (Elite 200GB), plus a $9.95 delivery fee.
[3] Min cost for ‘old prices’ over 12 months with HomeLine Plus and a 1-port self install modem are: $1027.80 (Turbo 2GB), $1147.80 (Elite 2GB), $1867.80 (Elite 50GB) and $2,707.80 (Elite 200 GB), plus a $9.95 delivery fee.
Plus, customers can receive up to $20 off their broadband monthly access fee when they combine a new 24 month broadband plan with a Telstra full service fixed line phone and an additional BigPond wireless broadband, Telstra post-paid mobile, or FOXTEL from Telstra on a Single Bill[4].
This means, for example, you can enjoy 50GB for as little as $49.95 a month[5].
Full details of the new BigPond plans are available online here
[1]Nielsen’s 2010 Internet & Technology Report
[4]To obtain this discount, the combined monthly access fee of the customer’s services must be at least $89
[5] Min cost for $49.95 plan with HomeLine Plus, a 1-port self install modem and a Telstra post-paid mobile ($20) is $2,397.60, plus a $9.95 delivery fee.
Rest assured, all existing customers will be moved onto the new plans in the coming months. We’ll be letting customers know about the changes, but if anyone wants to make the change sooner, feel free to give us a call on 13 2200 or go online at the site above.
This is a big step in the right direction for our customers, and I hope you feel the same way too – I’m looking forward to your feedback.
New BigPond broadband pricing media release

Thank you for your response Brendan,I am hardly surprised, once again the big end of town can afford the reality of what should be a standard in this fast communication of world internet, to ((((all)))) customers, I am totally at a loss as to why wireless is so discriminated against@!#* I cannot express my anger and frustration further than gwmbox, has done for so long now,you know as well as I do Brendan that 64kbps is dial up, and not broadband speed, and is bloody useless!!~!
can you get back to David Thodey please Brendan
and have him at least tell us what is going on, I came to Telstra in good faith and ensured my other products in order to be able to afford the premium cost of bigpond, seems that I never learn.!@*#
gwmbox re I am drafting a paper to the Government Equal Opportunity Office, if anyone wants to add to my draft, please let me know.
GW
Yes I would be happy to, also I still think of a media coverage ex Current Affair etc plus TIO.
Brendan I trust that this will be given some consideration from David.
Despite my angst at the 3G Broadband, call centre and lack of integration failures with telstra, I do want to give credit to the top as well.
Is this becoming the Pseudo Grouse or Shouse Blog instead of the Contact the CEO and Complaints/Compliments page?
I’m happy to contribute if thats the case, I have complained to David Thodey but now have a big thankyou as well.
Hi Brent, I forward a report to the office of the CEO daily. Your feedback directed at David positive or negative will get into that report. Hey, I’d be more than happy to pass on a thank you from you.
Brendan.

I have written letters to the CEO and the T complaints department, however as yet no replies that deal with the situation that I have raised (repeatedly). I have commented in blog posts like this where I have felt it is related to the issue, however from the fact that no reply has been provided to the numerous questions raised by myself or others about wireless plans would mean that no, this is not the place for complaints etc as they are ignored.
However with little else available to vent my frustrations with the situation this is my only real outlet.
I do apologise and say sorry to everyone else for my constant requests and posts but I feel they are warranted, please look at it from my side of the fence.
Thanks
GW
Hi everyone
With regard to our wireless plans, I wanted to say that this is a highly competitive market and it’s not a good idea for us to disclose strategies relating to any products prior to their release. I know this might be frustrating but we do continually review the pricing of all products and services. If we do make changes to our pricing we will announce it to you as soon as possible.
@Rebekah, thank you for the response, finally.
I also got an email from Customer Help that suggests the same as what you have said but in more detail. I am waiting for a reply to see if I can reproduce that reply on my web site for others to read.
While I appreciate your reply, can I ask what harm would it be to at least provide an increased shaping speed to 256kbs for the wireless plans, maybe the same as ADSL/.Cable and the top two plans? That then will at least be something while we wait for new plans to be released, at least that will make the shaped speed usable.
Thank you for considering this
GW
It has been quite a while now since my last post, although my last post was not published as it was addressing the reply made by Rebekah.
Nevertheless I keep dropping into TEX for a slim hope that there will be some news about new wireless plans, but there is still nothing to be found.
Since Brendon does not want me to post here about our plight here any more, I will only make a post once per week to see if anything has changed.
We just had a monthly reset and after 14 days shaped we are back to full speed for probably another 15 or 16 days. We need more quota now, we need at minimum double what there is now and in fact need more like 30 to 40GB as the top plan for about $89.
Thanks
GW
To frustrated wireless users
In the absence of fairer data still to come?
Wireless broadband users might like to check out VIVIDWIRELESS some examples
5gb $35 10gb $49
UNLIMITED $75 yes $75
GW unlimited a good one, for me the 5Gb at $35 perfect, fast wireless also.
AUSTRALIA’S appetite for the internet continues to grow and the number of wireless internet connections has soared in the last year, a study has found.
A report released yesterday by the Bureau of Statistics shows the amount of data downloaded in the June 2010 quarter increased by more than 50 per cent compared to the same period a year earlier.
In the same period, the number of wireless broadband connections increased by 70 per cent to nearly 3.5 million.
Thanks Mark, but they are no where to be seen in regional and rural locations. It does however highlight the issue of what we pay versus what competitors of Bigpond/Telstra charge.
GW
Hi who ever is there? I was wondering why plans cannot be [taylored] for customers on a 24 month contract? EG: an extra GB would give me [peace of mind] at least till better value plans can be implemented, looking at current plans, it would seem that at the lower end of your plans you can give an extra 2GB for $10.0 per GB $19.95 1GB 3GB $29.95, representing [$5 per extra GB] from there on for the higher plans you charge [$10 per GB?] I know that you like to keep your plans simple, but so are our needs as customers, what can you do? in the meantime I will not be holding my breath.
BigPond Liberty® 1GB plan 1GB 24 months From ($19.95 )))
BigPond Liberty® 3GB plan 3GB 24 months From $29.95 )))
BigPond Liberty® 6GB plan 6GB 24 months From $59.95
BigPond Liberty® 10GB plan 10GB 24 months From $99.95
Thanks Telstra,
Woke up this morning, read the paper online, checked my email, got shaped!
Just checked to see how much data I used today and apparently I used 800mb. Wow, todays online papers must contain alot of content…
How do you query it….Your ripping us off…..
Give us more data….PERIOD!
Our chances of getting more data for the same price are zero.At the rate telstra’s share price is going it will soon reach junk status.
Hi Julian,Woke up this morning, read the paper online, checked my email, got shaped!
I now know how Oliver Twist felt!#*@ the dial up shaping speed of 64kbps is an insult and not worth wasting time trying to use it, TELSRA why!! do you think we went to broadband#@* Julian that is basicaly what I mostly do emails and read papers online, apart from the frustrating times spent speaking to, the insulated GB dole hand out Gods,
Yipee! We just got notified that Optus are adding a new tower to our town, you little ripper, guess where we will be going…
Unless of course Telstra finally pulls their finger out and actually does something….
GW
GW says,Unless of course Telstra finally pulls their finger out and actually does something….
You cheered me up, but I am afraid they may have more than one finger that needs pulling out, Optus are looking better every day.
I have reached day (9) of my monthly Data Quota, and have already used over half of this pittance,my daughter twice got me on Skype to see mt baby grandchildren, and this has punished me, especially
(((upload charges!#*!))))?????
I guess pensioners are only going to afford reading emails and occassion newspapers, the free green site is hardly a consideration, this is a total misery, I do not mind paying a little more for an extra GB, but NOT DOUBLE!#*@#
About 10 mins ago i changed my broadband plan from 3gb to 6gb.I was then very arrogantly told it would not necessarily be approved. It had bloody-well better be approved.Telstra’s aloof arrogant attitude has not changed one iota.
Hi William
Sorry to hear about the experience. If you could please send me via the form your contact number, account number and details, I will get someone to follow this up. Cheers, Michael
Article Whirlpool Broadband.
AUSTRALIANS are paying through the nose for internet access compared with most countries.
A damning report on the nation’s broadband has revealed householders are slugged an average $10.78 per megabit — ranking us the most expensive of 26 countries.
Statistics compiled by US-based internet monitoring agency Ookla reveal Bulgaria offers its citizens the cheapest broadband access at just 69 cents per megabit.
Australia has been embarrassed by the superior performance of many countries including second-placed Republic of Moldova ($1.06), Romania ($1.40), Latvia ($1.81) and Lithuania ($2.02), which deliver affordable broadband to its citizens.
In a further blow to the nation’s broadband credibility, Australia was also ranked near the bottom of 26 nations rated on ISPs’ ability to deliver promised internet speeds to customers.
(tell me something I did not already know!#*
6GB Wireless for $79.95 absolute disgrace.
Hi Brendan,
just a courtesy email.
I did not receive that call re online billing account page. re the problem I previously outlined.
(welcome Annette) instead of welcome Mark, so I rang and a lovely Telstra lady names Dianne, whom was courteous and very helpful, fixed the problem for me, then put me through to billing, and a paper bill for the month was then also corrected.
My Regards Mark.
Well I’m glad you got that all sorted Mark. All the best, Brendan
Hello Rebekah or Brendan
I hope your day is going well. Can I ask for a few moments of your time for an update or some news on wireless plans please, any news/info will be appreciated

I’d like to ECHO the comments of Mark Ereira above, … asking people online ‘overseas’ about their “Internet plans”, they are generally unlimited usage, at speeds averaging 100 to 500 Mb/s.
Australia is a disgrace, OR , Business knows when they’re on a good thing downunder !
Thank you Anthony, For me it is inconceivable, and appaling that such an extreme price structure, value, and Data allowances, between fixed line ADSL 2 and the have nots, us discriminated wireless have to endure, examples below, and this on top of a 24 month contract, and a need to have two other Telstra products to even receive the pittance dished out, generaly staff and the bigpond team understand the obscene unfairness, and have worked hard for customers, but are limited and held back by those that could make the decisions and ensure that unhappy customers will remain. find enclosed examples.

GW (GW you made my day) lol.
LOL, yes I tried the gentle approach but it would seem that no matter what or how I ask, I will continue to get the Telstra brick wall. No harm in trying though
GW
A past favourite blast from the past.
( I’ve got a confession to make… I’m having a love affair with the internet. ) well it’s a Bigpond.
I really aren’t a Telstra / Bigpond “basher”, and I do appreciate that I started online with a Dialup plan in 2004, from memory at around the same price I’m paying now, although my speed and ‘Data allowance’ is offhand 100′s times more…
I do have friends around the world, colleagues, and they are quite shocked on hearing of practices like data allowances, then “slowed”. Speeds are available that compare to overseas, but you are looking at very heavy overheads, Business may write it off, in fact to be on the world stage they have to, or just not be in the loop.
Just some observations from a user who cannot understand how restrictive Aussie Internet plans are, and glad to see at last plans are starting to become “hopeful”, if not as yet reasonable.
We all cop it on the chin, my Son doing VCE next year is told he must have the Internet, and MS Office.
My Brother, who is unemployed must have an Email address to apply for jobs, and communicate with Centrelink. There’s a lot of people hanging out in school and Public libraries as they simply wouldn’t be able to be a part of our society, that stinks to me. Sure at least they can access the Web from a library, but there’s a very big rift in our Australian society / Culture. Another family member has a public service job, with a free laptop, Internet, and a car, lol. We are in a mess in Australia, Telstra is regularly improving plans personally for myself.
But as Mark Ereira says above:
” … us discriminated wireless have to endure, examples below, and this on top of a 24 month contract, and a need to have two other Telstra products to even receive the pittance dished out, generaly staff and the bigpond team understand the obscene unfairness, and have worked hard for customers, but are limited and held back by those that could make the decisions and ensure that unhappy customers will remain.”
As a side note, I feel too much is made of just how great the Internet is, to the point that people do get into financial difficulty just to keep up with their neighbours.
Hi Anthony, and thank you for your support.you certainly made some very important and valid comments, as enclosed

The internet information highway connects the world, and as you have stated education, and there is health and research etc, Anthony I cannot believe how bloody conservative Australians can be at times, we should have to use taxpayers money to advance Australia, not save it as money in the bank for pourposes of taking care of banks in world financial melt downs, mostly greed, and CEO bonuses, for downsizing Australian jobs to offshore countries, political overseas donations etc, we play the world stage as big shots, yet we cannot provide decent and affordable broadband internet for our children and citizens, we are recieving second rate internet due to our apathy, so it is heartning that at least people like yourself listen, in the absence of big business, Telstra say they are, but their very slow responses leave us forced wireless users to become skeptical, and disenchanted.
GW Says

might I add “that you can paint a turd gold! but in the end it is still a turd”
GW One of my past ancestors Moses was put in a hard basket, and floated down the river Nile , but I went astray and ended up drowning in a Bigpond, my other semetic friends turned left and found oil, my lot turned right and got bloody oranges. I missed a turning somewhere went astray! and ended up here in OZ and found Telstra. I read the Whirlpool Gospel, and alas here I am on wireless. I submit this crap , knowing that if you throw enough on that brick wall, some of it will stick.
I noticed this post, for prepaid, and I had a moment of fantasy, that perhaps our wireless plans may be resurected about this time? never know it’s getting closer to Christmas, and some providers get the Santa Syndrome, a ‘special time’ LOL, mean while back at the ranch!#~*

Changes to your Telstra Pre-Paid Mobile Broadband service
With the increasing popularity of Telstra Pre-Paid Mobile Broadband and to keep pace with the fast changing landscape in this category, on 21 October 2010 Telstra will also be making several changes to Telstra Pre-Paid Mobile Broadband, including a wider choice of expiry periods and improved recharge values. More details will be made available on these changes in the coming weeks to help you choose the best recharge level to suit your needs.
It is important to note that from 21 October 2010, your Telstra Pre-Paid Mobile Broadband service will move from per KB charging to per MB charging. This means the total data used (download and upload) in each session will be rounded up to the next MB. For example, if you use 900KB in a particular session, this will be rounded up to 1MB at the end of the
THE competition watchdog claims slowing broadband speeds after customers exceed a download limit on an ”unlimited” plan is like selling them a Ferrari with one gear.
But the judge hearing a case between SingTel-owned Optus and the regulator said throttling broadband speeds to 256 kilobits per second (kbps) was more like selling a crumbling car.
Wait till they see Bigponds 64kbps dial up speed, not even so called broadband, talk about the flintstones broadband!#*” and what about uploading charges to add insult to injury, on an aready over priced and pittance of data, only good for emails I lost 500Mg from my 3GB on skype talking to my daughter in Victoria, and seeing my grand children, cannot wait for my contract to finish.
Yes the 64kbps shaping speed is something that needs to be rectified very quickly, this might have been fine 3 years ago but now is just not enough to even cope with the smallest of web sites as most are now geared towards full speed broadband access.
I also agree re Skype, we would love to use it and talk to our family in Perth but we cannot use it as it kills our quota, I am sure you understand how annoying that is.
GW
Excellent point guys about skype. Just another reason why we’re getting left behind with wireless data usage. Once again my family and I would love to keep up with the new technology that’s being developed but we need data to do it……..

Can a telstra rep (Rebekah, Brendan, any Rep) please tell me what is the lowest gauranteed broadband download speed please I looked for it in FAQ, but would appreciate a simple straight forward answer.
Good question, on a good day we get 1.2mbps, but usually get a max of about 0.9kbps.
GW
GW another question I would seek an answer to, is whether the shaping speed of 64kbps is considered by Bigpond to be a part of the broadband spectrum, I certainly consider it to be a dial up application, but I have not seen a Bigpond statement that we will be shaped to dial up, nobody in their right mind would in this day and age want to go back to a primitive internet, as being better than nothing, is it?
I required broadband and pay for broadband, and I have no real objection, if shaping has to be a reality, but for Gods sake 64mbps#!*#
I thought that 110/ or 252kbps was a bigpond guarantee, that I read on another web site, so why doe a Telstra Bigpond customer who thought he was with Australias fastest server have to settle for second rate crumbs.
Looks like all we are going to get is an extra 2GB as you can view the place holder here http://go.bigpond.com/wireless/12gb/...
ARE YOU KIDDING ME!
IS THIS THE BEST YOU CAN DO?
WHAT AN INSULT TO US WIRELESS USERS!
This is going to be a poor result if this is true. Do any of you executives know what it is like to have to ration to 12GB Internet access?
I am so looking forward to Optus adding their tower here in the nest few months as Telstra can only be described as ruthlessly discriminatory towards wireless users.
I would love to be proved wrong but I bet even Rebekah will not even read this post as her past record on TEX shows Rebekah has little to no sympathy towards wireless users.
You do understand that wireless suers are CUSTOMERS!
GW
Just resigned for the new wireless plans this morning. I admit the price is certainly better but 12gb pm c’mon… Just got an extra couple of days usage without being shaped!
Thanks for nothing
Hi Brendan,
First of all I thank you for your efforts, with regard to improving the value and affordability of wireless broadband, whilst I am happy with my data plan, from 3GB to now 7GB for just that $10 increase, I am amazed and dissapointed that you have not in these long awaited improvements not provided that 20/25 GB plan and option for those like GW who with his family usage has long sought at a fair price a decent data limit, also may I suggest that at least for the your highest plan of an amazing extra 2gb total [12GB] that you consider that 256 kbps as offered to the lucky ones on a fixed line, this at least could compensate in some way.
I look forward to your earliest reply, regards Mark.
Well it is true, the new plans are up and they have even changed the name from ‘wireless’ to ‘mobile’.
Telstra! I use wireless for NON MOBILE purposes so I have Home Broadband but there is no plan available now for me as I cannot get fixed connection and I don’t have or want a mobile connection. I want a wireless home connection…. so where are those plans?
GW
Actually posted a comment yesterday but obviously didn’t go through. Here we go again. Signed up yesterday for the new wireless plan. Agreed that is certainly better paying $69 vs the $119 per month but I don’t think anyone at Telstra have listened to our complaints. It’s all about data! I’d just like to have a reasonable amount so my family and I can operate like regular families. 2 gb extra pm is a joke and will last about 2 extra days. Pathetic!
Not happy!
GW Says, This is going to be a poor result if this is true. Do any of you executives know what it is like to have to ration to 12GB Internet access?

I share your anger and frustration, in fact I did add my support to your plea for some level of justice regarding obscene data allowance for a wireless expensive top plan, what part of our message dont Telstra Bigpond understand, it was maybe to simple for these top brains to comprehend, I was asked to fill in a survey on telstra loyalty rewards, lol, I had to purchase and sign up for 24 months on all products to get almost the same price as the competition !#* I have had detractors on whirlpool state whay stay etc, and I would say, if I could be released from my contracts without paying a kings randsom I would not think twice, like you of like many before us of leaving Telstra. I was not provided a service that I wanted, take it or leave it basically, or keep trying for God knows how long to get a port!! Telstra have a funny way of trying to make wireless as an alternative next to the fast optic fibre NBN. from 10 to 12 GB for family use!#*# come on get real, just really bloody listen.
To Management, and those listening to their customer feed backs.
I note the following statements from Telstra.
Telstra also said it was introducing new “high usage plans of 100 GB and 200 GB to satisfy the growing demand for movie downloads and more family members connecting at the same time.”
A 12-month, ADSL2+ plan with 100GB would cost $129.95 per month. For 200GB, expect to pay $179.95 per month, Telstra indicated.
What I am seeking from management, is for you to state your future consideration for Families having to use wireless as an alternative to not being able to be provided with these ADSL2 plan data allowances, a wireless family has to share currently [12GB]
which would not even last half the month, before being throttled to dial up, useless for todays use. I do not feel that on a 24month committment that 20 GB replace the current 12 GB at an affordable and realistic family usage. I express my gratitude and appreciation for the new 7GB plan which for my self now meets my needs and justifies having faith, and remaining with Telstra Bigpond, I very strongly feel that to hold on to family customers it is absolutely critical to have at least a 20 GB plan, they committed to 24 months so please look after them
I need to restate my comment and correct as follows, [I do (not) feel that on a 24month committment that 20 GB replace the current 12 GB ) my statement should read [I do feel that that on a 24 month contract that 20GB replace the current 12 GB]
In this day and age internet that is limited to 12gb per month is like living in the stone age…. All my family wants to do is keep up with all the latest technology… No point advertising the latest tv’s etc if we can’t use them to their fullest capabilities.. It’s got to the point where when I receive and emails from Sony or xbox for the latest games, demos or updates I just delete them before my kids see them. Couldn’t handle the whinging of wanting them. I’m also at a point where I’ve had to turn off automatic updates for my macs, xbox and ps3…. If I leave them on, there goes my data…..
Great!
Anyway Telstra thanks again for making the plans cheaper and giving me sod all data….I think you really missed the point of our requests…..
I notice Rebekah you did not make an announcement about the new wireless (mobile) plans? Is there a reason? I bet it is because you know it was a pathetic update to say the least.
If you are following the news on broadband as part of your job, which I am sure you are, you will have read or seen the information about the Prime Minister Julia Gillard telling the Liberal/National Party to not stall the NBN. Coming from the news.com.au article Julia Gillard is quotes as saying
‘Do not delay and cause extra days of higher prices and less choice, particularly for those Australians who live in our regions.’
It was great to read how even the Prime Minister agrees Internet access we get in regional areas (Wireless and Satellite) is priced too high for what we get.
Continuing on in the same article Senator Conroy also added ‘They are wilfully delaying millions of Australians from getting a fairer deal on broadband and telecommunications services.’
You can’t get much more plain as that which agrees totally with what we have been saying for all this time, we should be getting a fairer deal for our wireless and/or satellite connections.
So come on Telstra time to play fair and provide better than you have, we are still waiting….

[Well based on the comments on here I have deferred my decision to purchase bigpond.]
The news has come that presumably hard-nosed bargaining between Internode and Telstra Wholesale has eventually secured an outcome, which in this case means national broadband provider, Internode, can boost data quotas and cut prices over its range of ADSL Fast broadband plans.
The headline price cut is a 50GB download plan that is $30 cheaper than the older one, while avoiding uploads being counted as part of the download limit as Telstra still does, despite all of its rhetoric about improving customer service.
Internode says that the plans it delivers via Telstra Wholesale ports are ADSL2+ enabled at 1300 telephone exchanges around Australia, with “high speed” ADSL1 available at other exchanges. ( amazing considering I could not get a port with Telstra@!#*) and wireless broadband only has a 12GB top data plan at an exorbitant price tag.

And with regards to Bigpond shaping,
“We’ve addressed this and later this month, customers on higher usage fixed Elite and Ultimate broadband plans who go over their usage will be shaped to 256kbps, four times faster than before”.
So, although consumers will still be punished for going over their usage limits, something that’s not unusual, at least surfing speeds will be baseline bearable,
as opposed to the effectively completely unusable previous 64kbps
so on a wireless plan you pay top dollar for a hell of a lot less , then suffer a useless 64MBPS Dial up shaping speed.
Ok Telstra,
You win!
Doesn’t look like in the near future we will have anything better than the 12gb pm so what about increasing our shaped speeds?
At least that way I don’t have to make a coffee everytime I referesh a page! And it’s a latte not instant!
Increase our shaped speeds, Please!
Agreed, at least up the top plans shaped speed to 256kbps and that will at least make it usable.
If not please advise why not.

Hi Guys, I had emailed David Thodey, and I recieved a message from senior management connected to David, and a complaints case manager was placed at my disposal, a really great guy (James) he was extremely courteous and showed a great deal of empathy, and understanding of our [3] major complaints [1] being mostly ignored, or painfully slow in receiving a response to our letters, [2] the discrimination and obscene 12GB top end plan that is useless for a family, and where children research for their school education, I stated that a minimum of 20/30GB was at least a bottom line, [3] I spoke at great length about the useless stone age dial up shaping, and quoted
Julian Kirks’remarks about making coffe whilst downloading was attempted, lol, all remarks are being forwarded on, to David, and I feel confident from the tenure of our discussions that these wireless issues are being seriously considered, next to fiber optics and the NBN wireless and sattelite market use are dramatically increasing, I did acknowledge the
improvements that Telstra have initiated, and that I was hopefull that wireless needs to and will present better and fairer value sooner, rather than later.
Great work Mark,
Really appreciate what yourself and Gymbox are doing. Just hope Telstra take note at what’s being asked and do something positive with it….
Thanks
Julian
Thank you Julian, for your kind remarks, like ourselves and other wireless users, this is not an issue that will be ignored
I am also waiting for a reply from senator Conway, and will persist untill this discrimination of home wireless users has been rectified, and we have been truly heard, not with either a band aid solution, or just lip service, there are other avenues for us, but I am hopefull that we are in better hands with CEO,David Thodey I do acknowledge improvements under his leadership, and trust that he must be aware of our feed back, that he seeks.
