So you’re making changes to your company: Rap about it

blog-a-refreshing-change-banner

As a video producer for Telstra, I produce some of the content on our Telstra corporate Youtube channel. I thought I’d share some of the latest news from our favourite video sharing site.

Youtube is quickly being adopted by companies who mash-up conventional corporate comms showing us all that there are more creative ways to communicate to your customers. It’s refreshing to see.

Telstra You TubeA great example is the above video from website network WOOT! who helped pioneer the deal-a-day model of online retailing, similar to Australia’s own JumpOnIt.  WOOT! was recently acquired by web giant Amazon and in response the CEO of WOOT! Matt Rutledge wrote a hilarious letter to employees and the company posted an even more hilarious monkey rap online. It’s a lesson in not taking yourself too seriously online.

Of course that’s easy for a company known for its youthful vibe and hijinks, a little harder for a company like Telstra. Having said that, even ‘serious’ companies are starting to get into the swing of things. Our friends at Cisco posted this hilarious video blog from arguably the world’s most interesting intern.

I’d love to know if any other companies that have taken this road? Is this somewhere Telstra should go? Let us know below.
