Marketing business inspiration

It’s a busy time for us marketing  folk. Increasingly, and fittingly, management teams are realising that marketing is intrinsic to the success of their organisation.

The pressure, therefore, to keep ahead of the trends while developing highly successful campaigns that provide fabulous results, is incessant.

Don’t get me wrong, it’s not that we don’t love it. Most marketing types thrive on the pressure of a deadline and the challenge of creating that new, unique, winning campaign.  Especially when we can tap into our network for idea and inspiration, and access key business leaders who are willing to share their knowledge and ideas…

And that’s where Marketing Women Vic comes in!

Established in 2002, this iteration of Marketing Women Vic was conceived and brought to life in 2009 by a group of marketing and communications professionals who are committed to the advancement of female marketers.

We offer marketing women the opportunity to connect with each other, whether taking part in our mentor program or attending an event.

As well as a networking opportunity, each event gives our members exclusive access to an inspirational business person.

In March our guest speaker was Jacqui Moore, Group General Manager, Marketing, Country Road, who shared with us a number of must-have career tips, and the key highlights of the successful Trenery brand launch, including their innovative digital campaign.

And at our next event on 11 May 2010 we’re fortunate to have one of social media’s leading ladies, Kristen Boschma, Head of Online Communications and Social Media, Telstra. Kristen will share with us what she sees as the key highlights and learnings around developing, implementing and measuring a social media strategy. Kristen will also chat with us about some of the career development lessons she’s learnt during her very interesting and varied professional life so far.

Whether you’re tapping into the social media wave right now, or you’re interested in how you can apply it to future campaigns, this event is a must.

More information and the registration form for this event can be found here But hurry, places for this event are filling up fast!

Perhaps the marketing team might like to put out this bushfire before your efforts backfire, with all the bad press going around: http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/forum-replies.cfm?t=1435533
