I found out the after market cables from electronic shops will not work, even theough the connector fits the phone.

The T90 USB cable is unique for the T90 (wiring inside cable is different), so will need to get a replacement cable from Telstra shop.

Thanks Brendan. Did the trick. The information would have been handy from the start instead of spending a couple of hours on the phone trying to sort it. The tuff phone menu in that area is not what you would call intuitive or instructional. I also found the ZTE website to be fairly unkind.. Thanks for your help.

Doe anyone know how to get the T90 to receive emails please? Spoke with Telstra - no luck, my ISP doesn't know anything about the phones and can't find anything on the ZTE website.

I've got a T90 for work. The phone itself is fine. Not as user friendly as a smart touch screen phone but the ruggedness helps. My only real problem with the T90 is the stupid reminders in the calendar. I don't know who thought having alarms set automatically to go off on Valentine's Day, Mother's Day, Father's Day and Christmas. Honestly. There does not appear to be any way to disable these reminders nor delete them. What the hell?? They go off at the worst times too.

Hey Jimmy I am on my second T90 just spent 8 hours charging the bloody thing and doesnt go, but to your question you should be able to buy/use a generic brand cable so long as one end has the USB connection and the other has the small connection for the phone just take the phone into any electronics store they can match the fittings and should only cost a couple of dollars. cheers!

Jimmy
This is a statement from the TELSTRAA ZTE upgrade site, there it is in black and white 'we're here to help'.
Again good luck dealing with the company that is driven by statistics and bonus's, not service.

We're here to help.

If you don’t have access to a compatible computer or your original cable, just call our upgrade team any time on 1800 991 826 for other upgrade options.

Telstra Business customers can contact us on 1800 991 503 or Telstra Enterprise and Government customers can contact us on 1800 730 062.

Hi Jimmy
As a temp measure set the prefered band to 2nd option, this will overcome the power off's and won't affect the signal level.
The cord is a USB to micro USB, you can buy them. Or better still thke the phone to a telstra shop and let them sort it; In the long run its better to do the software update.
Take it to the shop and see if TELSTRA realy cares!
Anyway the temp fix will overcome the frustration in the meantime
good luck
