Peter Habib that Gen Y guy

blog_blogger1

Just like an irritable cold sore that manifests itself just before a first date, I too, have decided to triumphantly make an entrance and invade the new Telstra blog site. That said, yours truly is far from irritating and, indeed, some may argue, somewhat of a looker.

Yes, eager followers, looks aside, while it seemed I had hung up the blogging keyboard when – dare I even mention – nowwearetalking was retired, I have been overwhelmed by an influx of one email demanding to know why I was not part of Telstra Exchange.

Of course this overwhelming feedback moved me. Wiping away tears of joy, I rushed for the aforementioned keyboard, plugged it back in and began to vehemently type away.

Now I am just sure you have all been in a somewhat Delta Goodrem-esque state, no doubt lost without me and my regular updates. So let me briefly fill you in on what’s happened since I last blogged.

In one short phrase: not a lot.

Well, look, that’s not entirely true. I did manage to reach a career milestone of 10 years of service at the big T.

Speaking of all things Big T, there has been some changes a-foot. Not to swerve the topic back to yours truly, however, let me just focus for one moment on yours truly. I have stepped across from the BigPond media landscape and bunkered down deep in the bowels of Telstra HQ with the product-development folk. I now get to stick my nose in, play and ask lots of annoying questions to various product managers about all the new hip and funky products and services under development.

Apart from being slapped across the wrists and constantly told not to fiddle with the new products, I do have the enviable job of being able to peek in on all the new cool stuff. You may well ask what all the new stuff is underdevelopment. Indeed ask away. However, apart from the product peeps slapping my wrists and telling me to stop playing with all the new gadgets, they have also sworn me to secrecy.

But I will not be silenced… apart from the lawyers at 10 paces. So, as much as I can, in between the ramblings of the life and times of Peter Habib, I will endeavour to give you an insight into some of the new stuff released by Telstra.

Yes, dear friends, it’s great to be back and, may I add, sans-cold sore – clearly that was just a metaphor…

Peter there really is a God. Despite horrifying aspects of Telstra being ripped apart and dismembered, seeing the prospects of personal financial collapse and possible incarceration into the poor house with subsequent loss of good health and the onset of mental degeneration the scales have been balanced, nay, more than balanced, by the fantastic unbelievable and sensational news that you have returned to the keyboard to fortify, console, encourage and sustain us lesser mortals with you talented generosity. Messiah, you do suffer us little birds to sing.
